My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Ricky and I am looking for a forever home. I was adopted out from a small rescue when I was just a small puppy, but then my owner decided that he just didn't have time for a puppy and brought me back on Christmas Eve ... I was crushed! But my luck changed when a BCAA foster heard about what happened to me and since she was already coming to pick up some other dogs for BCAA, said she would take me, too ... yeah!!! I'm just a little over 6months old and currently weigh a little under 30lbs; the vet guesstimates that I might put a little bit of weight on (I am a little on the skinny side) but that I should stay 35-40lbs full grown. The best guess of what might breed mix might be is possibly a blue-tick hound (I've got some beautiful ticking/markings) and a terrier with my ears; whatever I am, my foster mom says I'm a really handsome boy. I have gotten along with the other medium/large dogs I have met and while I've shown a little interest in the cats, so far I haven't bothered them. I'm working on getting potty training down and have done better as long as I get out on a regular basis as I'm learning to hold it in my crate. I will go right in my crate when asked as I get good food and treats in there, but I would really prefer to be out and about with you. I love my food and treats which will be great in helping me with any future training you might want to do. I'm pretty good on leash and enjoy going out on adventures. Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.

More about this rescue

We are the Burlington County Animal Alliance (BCAA)located in Central New Jersey. We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c), all volunteer rescue that saves animals from our local shelter and surrounding areas of New Jersey that are in danger of being euthanized. We take them into our program, get them the necessary medical care they need and adopt them back out to loving forever homes. We have 60 volunteers, many that open their homes to foster the homeless animals, we do fundraisers to raise money so we can continue to save the dogs and cats in need. We run strictly on donations from our adoptions and people who support our work.BCAA adopts to families in New Jersey, parts of Southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York.
