My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi!  My name is Susie and I am looking for a forever home.  Me and my 4 puppies were surrendered to a scary place called a shelter by our owners.  All of my puppies got adopted and then I ended up on something bad called "the list".  Fortunately for me, a nice lady with a local rescue saw me and sprung me from that place; she then contacted BCAA to see if they could help me and they said yes!  I appear to be a mix of collie and not sure what else, but whatever I am mixed with my foster mom says I'm a super sweet girl 'cause all I want is to be with you and get some loving.  Before coming to my BCAA foster, my previous foster mom had grandkids over and said I was real good with them, too.  They all gave me lots of treats and food (maybe a little too much as I'm now on a diet to get my girlish figure back).  I am aroud 5years old so I'm past all of that puppy foolishness, and I'm currently 57 pounds.  I can be a little shy when I first meet new people, but just give me a little time and some TLC and I will be your friend forever.  I have gotten along with the other medium/small dogs I have met and haven't bothered those things called cats that I've encountered.  I've done super good in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of any bedding, but I would definitely prefer to be out cuddling with you.  I love my food and treats which I take gently.  I've done good on leash but do pull some in my excitement on being out with you.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.

Submit Application

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.
