Meet Tank!
*Tank is available for our foster to adopt program as his current foster placement has upcoming travel*
Tank is a 3-year-old, 11lb Chihuahua mix with the funniest ears and a love for walks. This little guy is house-trained, crate-trained, and doesn’t struggle with separation anxiety. He’s always on “security duty,” letting his foster mom know about any “intruders” at the door, but when he’s off the clock, you’ll find him napping soundly in his bed. Tank enjoys playing with plush squeaky toys and is highly food-motivated. He’s also a social butterfly with other dogs and gets so excited to meet them on walks that he occasionally pulls on his leash.
Tank came from a household that didn’t fully understand him, so he’s working on building trust and managing triggers like resource guarding his bed, crate, or designated area. He’s incredibly loyal and has a tendency to bond strongly with one person. In multi-human households, it’s important that everyone works together to help Tank feel connected to all family members. Tank takes Prozac, which he happily gobbles down with his meals, to support his ongoing training and adjustment.
We think Tank would thrive in an active household that integrates both physical and mental stimulation into his daily life. Whether it’s long walks, playtime with toys, or engaging in training sessions, he’ll flourish with a family that can keep him engaged and happy.
This spunky little guy is smart, learns quickly, and thrives with consistency and structure. His adopter will receive one free session with the rescue’s trainer to set Tank up for success. With patience and love, Tank will blossom into his best self and bring lots of joy and laughs to his forever family.
Tank is available for foster-to-adopt and is looking for a family who will embrace his spicy, loyal, and playful personality. If you’re ready to welcome a sweet, spirited companion into your home, apply for Tank today!
