Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Say hello to Rain! This tiny 10-pound sweetheart came to us as a stray, and her journey has been nothing short of resilient. At first, we thought she might be a puppy due to her petite frame, but our vet estimates her age to be closer to 7 years old. Rain’s past is a mystery, but it’s clear she has faced some challenges. She arrived with one eye already removed and grade 4 luxating patellas in both knees. Her remaining eye has limited vision—she can likely see shadows—but this hasn’t stopped her from navigating the world with positivity and grace. Her little body bears the scars of a life that hasn’t always been kind, but Rain radiates happiness, love, and an eagerness to connect, with her positivity always shining through.
Rain adores people! She’s a certified cuddle bug and thrives on human affection. She's quick to trust and always eager to make new friends. Her gentle, easy-going nature makes her a delight to be around, and she does wonderfully with other dogs. She isn’t overly active and is content to lounge and relax with her favorite humans.
Due to her blindness and luxating patellas, Rain is considered special needs. While her knees are splayed, she’s still able to get around and enjoys short walks. She would do best in a home where her person isn’t gone for long stretches of time and can provide the care and support she needs. Ideally, her future family will have experience with special needs or senior dogs, ensuring she has a safe, loving environment to thrive in.
Rain’s story may have started with hardship, but we’re determined to give her the happy ending she deserves. Could you be the one to show Rain what true love and kindness look like? Please inquire today!

More about this rescue
Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
