Tabitha is a four year-old 7 pound chi mix. Tabi lost her entire world after her owner gave up her and her sister to the local animal control officer as they “no longer wanted them.” Tabitha sat terrified at the shelter. Tabitha was very confused and completely withdrew surrounded by large dogs at the shelter and freezing in her run. BCAA took one look at her sad eyes and knew they had to get her to a foster home where she could relax, be loved, stay warm and learn to trust people (something that appeared to be lacking in her prior home).
After a ton of TLC, Tabitha is now ready for her new family. She adores her foster family, jumping around in excitement when they wake up or walk in the door (and especially when she knows they are going to take her outside for a walk). She is shy around strangers and gives a very soft muffled bark when they come to the door. Tabitha loves belly rubs, treats, and her dog beds. She sleeps great through the night, and loves to cuddle up in her bed during the day. She is pee pad trained but will need a little time to acclimate to her new home. She does great on a leash, is heartworm negative, and is spayed/chipped. She would do best in an adult only home. Apply at bcaaofnj.org
