My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi!  My name is Frankie and I am looking for a forever home.  I was picked up as a stray and brought to a really scary place called a shelter where, after my stray hold was up and no one came looking for me, I ended up on something bad called 'the list".  I was super scared and terrified of everyone who approached my crate, but a really nice lady saw past my bravado and got me out of there.  She then called BCAA to see if they could help me and they said yes!  My foster mom gave me a little time and lots of TLC and I soon learned I could trust her.  I do need to find a home where someone will also be patient with me but in return I will reward you with all my heart. I'm around 4 years old, and at 8 lbs, I will fit anywhere. I have gotten along with the other small/medium dogs I have met. I've done good in my crate without any accidents. I haven't bothered cats as the ones here are all bigger than me. I'm not the greatest on leash yet so I will need a physically fenced yard in order to take care of my business.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.

Submit Application

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.
