My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I’m Coco, a healthy 3-year-old male Pomeranian mix, weighing in at a petite 7.6 lbs. I’m super friendly and love hanging out with people—especially if you’ve got a soft plush toy or a cozy blanket nearby.

Unfortunately, I was given up recently by my family, because my owner could no longer care for me – she had become ill and was too frail/immobile. I had a pretty big family before, with 5 kids around, and I got along just fine with them. I’m cool with cats, too, and other dogs are just fine with me. I also have one tiny pet peeve: I don’t like it when people touch my food while I’m eating, but really, who does?

I love to snuggle. I'm okay in a crate, but get a bit vocal if I can't see my people. I really just want to be with my people. I'm kind of high energy, but if you're sleeping or watching tv, I'm happy to snuggle.

I get a little nervous about baths and grooming, but I warm up pretty quickly, and I’m actually a smart little guy, so I can be very obedient once I settle in. I’m playful and affectionate, too. If you love small dogs, you might also want to meet my buddy, Bear. We’re like two peas in a pod and could be a great team for your home!

We hold adoption events every weekend in the DC/Baltimore Metro Area and also schedule private meet and greets once a potential adopter/foster has applied for a specific dog or cat.
