My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chloe is a curious girl who’s still learning to build confidence. She may start off shy and cautious, preferring to observe her surroundings and approach at her own pace, but with patience and kindness, her sweet personality shines through. Chloe shows moments of connection, giving soft tail wags and accepting gentle pets once she feels more at ease.

On walks, she’s focused on exploring! Chloe does well on a leash and adjusts quickly to new experiences with support. With time, patience, and a calm approach, Chloe has the potential to blossom into a loving companion ready to bond with her forever human!

Eligible for rescue, foster, and adoption. Meet Chole at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering her.

Behavior notes:
01/27/2025 staff notes: Took Chloe out this morning for a quick walk while her kennel was being cleaned. She was easy to leash and jumped out of kennel eagerly, loose body language. tail wags and ears attentive. Outside she was primarily focused on her immediate environment , showed little interest in handler. Walked back to kennel with no issue, hesitated to go back in kennel but with moderate leash pressure she went in. no issues unleashing.

01/26/2025 staff notes:
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
In the kennel, Chloe was laying down near the front of the kennel door and popped her head up with scared dilated eyes and a tucked tail. I reached in with the leash and spoke to her in a baby voice and she began wagging her tail. She was easy to leash and once secured came right out.

LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls strongly

HANDLING :
In the room, Chloe began sniffing around with a tucked tail and lowered body. She avoided me for a while while looking up with curious but dilated eyes. She came up with her body stretched to sniff me and walked away slowly. She did a very good shake off and started wagging her tail over to my direction. I was able to give her back some pets before she did some displacement sniffing and walked off again. When another staff member came into the room she trotted over with a low wagging tail and sniffed her curiously. The staff member went in for some pets and she got very tense with hard eye contact. With some more time, she came up and allowed some handling, being very tolerant but she did solicit for me. She did pull her head away from me slightly when I touched her ears but I think with more time and patience she will warm up more.

PLAY:
Minimal interest

TOYS
Interest but no possession

01/25/25 staff notes: Chole's previous owner described her as, a loving and caring and kind dog
