Story
Meet Beagy Weagy (pronounced "Bee-Gee Wee-Gee"), the 4-year-old Beagle who will have you staying alive with laughter and love. Beagy is a sniff-a-holic, always with his nose to the ground, following the scent trails that are his "Saturday Night Fever." Beagy's unique charm comes with a side of giggles. Imagine a potbelly pig in a Beagle costume, snorting with delight when you pet him, almost purring like a contented cat. Beagy has an adventurous spirit - half-heartedly making an effort to run through an open door or gate, we think this little escape artist would love a home with a fenced-in yard...although it's not a deal breaker. Beagy would also consider someone who understands the importance of going for walks on a leash. When it comes to food, Beagy's heart dances to the tune of chicken. This guy has a daily routine that's pure Goldilocks. He rotates his nap spots around the house, from the couch to the dog bed, and finally, to the bedroom at night. Beware, his snores might just outdo your partner's! Whether he's catching Z's or following his nose, Beagy Weagy is ready to fill your home with harmony and happiness.Interested in adopting this dog? Story
You'll want to gobble me up, I'm so cute - that's why they call me Ballpark Frank! I'm a Beagle mix, about 3 months old, and am a pure bundle of joy! While house training is still a work in progress, I am an expert at hitting the pad when in my crate/pen overnight. Speaking of my crate, I am quiet when I am in it and love chewing on a Nylabone or peanut butter Kong in there if I wake up. As far as walking on a leash is concerned, I am still learning, but I do love having my nose to the ground and taking in all the interesting smells. Additionally, I travel well in a car as long as I am on a seatbelt tether.Playing with the other pups in my foster home is my favorite thing to do, but I do love catching a nap after some hard playing. My foster mom feeds me 3 times a day and I love my mealimes. She is also working with training treats to help me understand when I am doing something good - like sitting! So if you are looking for a good pup, don't let summer end without getting a Ballpark Frank in your life. Fill out an application today. You'll be glad you did.Interested in adopting this dog? Story
Ranger is a very personable confident guy! And, a joy to be around. Sadly he found himself homeless when his family moved and left him and other dogs and cats behind. In spite of his being abandoned, we are glad that Ranger is a very adaptable little fellow, and incorporated himself into his foster family as if he was a long lost friend! Ranger has proven to be great with all dogs, male and female, in his foster home. We are told he has lived with cats previously but because his foster does not have cats, we have not seen this ourselves. Ranger is believed to be a Beagle – Black Lab Mix, about 7 years old, and estimated at 32 lbs. Among Ranger’s favorite activities are napping, hanging out with his dog friends, walking around the secure fenced yard at his foster home, and occasionally playing with toys. An ideal family for Ranger is one who will allow him to enjoy his favorite activities….and would definitely nclude another canine friend or two…he just LOVES other dogs! We expect Ranger to be ok with children over the age of 6 years, but he enjoys being in an all-adult home too…as long as he gets the attention he deserves. Ranger is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round prevention, neutered and microchipped. In his foster home, Ranger has shown himself to be housebroken. It is important to note for any dog….he/she should not be forced to “hold it” for more than 6 hours at any time. If you might want to add this sweet boy to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895 for more information or to request an application.

Story
Meet Bella, a sweet 11-year-old Beagle Mix who found herself homeless after her owner passed away; sadly no one in the family wanted her. She was very scared at Animal Control; we were so glad we could bring her into our Rescue. Bella is an absolute sweetheart who has tail wags and kisses for everyone she meets. She loves hanging out in the yard, enjoying the sun; she also likes to nap on the couch and watch the day go by. Bella is a cuddler, and would love to find someone who would allow her to sleep next to them at night and provide her all the attention she deserves during the day. She enjoys walks and walks nicely on a leash. Bella is great with dogs of all sizes; however a young, energetic dog might be a bit much for her. She is also good with kids. We do not know about cats. Bella is in overall good health, has no mobility issues, and her bloodwork shows no issues either. She is up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped. Bella weighs about 40 lbs. Bella is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and recently had a dental with extractions. Her pre surgery bloodwork was great too! Bella weighs about 40 lbs. She is housebroken. If you are interested in adding this precious senior to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895.

Story
Fred is a 2 year old Beagle mix. If you are looking for a young guy who is fully trained, give Fred a chance! Fred is Potty and crate trained, but he is such a good boy he really doesn’t need the crate. He knows basic commands and is friendly with everyone (four legged and two legged). He does have a lot of energy and would need a fenced in yard for some of those full speed zoomies! Fill out an application for Fred on our website https://www.tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org/ or find us on FB.

Story
Meet Goby, the charming male Beagle mix who's sure to steal your heart! At just about a year old, Goby is the perfect blend of youthful energy and sweetness. This goofy boy has a delightful personality that shines through in everything he does. He absolutely loves booty scratches and will show his appreciation with the sweetest, silliest expressions. Goby is a natural entertainer, often seen prancing and chirping with joy on his walks. His playful nature and affectionate demeanor make him an irresistible companion. If you're looking for a loving and fun-loving addition to your family, Goby is the one for you! Goby's journey started at Anderson Animal Shelter, where he arrived from a partner shelter in Tennesee. Despite testing positive for Heartworm, he hasn't let that dampen my spirits. The staff here believes that during Goby's treatment and recovery, the best place for him is with a loving and forever family like yours. If you choose to adopt him, you'll have the support of the clinic staff every step of the way. The treatment process typically takes about three months, during which some simple at-home steps will keep him safe and comfortable. After that, a follow-up test six months post-treatment ensures he's back to his happy, healthy self. It's important to remember that Heartworm can only be transmitted by mosquitoes, so with proper precautions, we can keep Goby safe and sound. With your love and care, the staff anticipates that Goby will fully recover, and he can't wait to bring joy and laughter into your home. Let's embark on this journey together and make some unforgettable memories! Stop in and meet Goby in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

If you are interested in SKIPPY or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. SKIPPY is one of the most gentle souls in all the universe. He has deep brown heart melting eyes that always seem to be in awe of the big bright beautiful world around him. A couple of his favorite things are cuddle time with his foster family and sunning in the backyard. SKIPPY currently lives in a foster home with many dogs. He is never pushy and has zero desire to be the boss. SKIPPY’s kind, unobtrusive nature will make it easy for him to get along with all resident animals in his forever home. However, SKIPPY would also be perfectly fine as the only pup in the house, so he’s an easy addition to the family. If you are lucky enough to have sweet SKIPPY take a piece of your heart into his paw, he will hold on to it forever! It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Story
FAST FACTS:*5 Years Old - Medium Size*Active and Affectionate Personality*Loves Fetching Balls, Running, and Cuddling*Older Children (10+ Years Old)*Only Pet*Potty Trained*Fenced Yard RequiredBIO:Awooooo! My name is Little Louise (Lilly for short), and I am an affectionate an active beagle mix who would love to be your devoted best furry friend. Like many beagles, I am very attached to my people and will always greet you with excitement when you come home from work or errands. Try not to smile when my tail wags and ears flop while I ask for hugs and pets upon your return, I dare you! I would do best as your one and only pet in the house: I do well with other dogs at doggie daycare, but at home I am an attention hog and can get jealous of other pets when they have your focus. I would also prefer any children be on the older side (10+ years old) just because I am an excitable girlie and wouldn't want to accidentally hurt one of my tiny human siblings when I am being silly. I have a variety of interests including going for walkies to sniff and explore, cuddling with my family (my favorite spot is under the covers near your feetsies to help keep them warm at night!), and most especially running zoomies around the yard and chasing thrown balls or sticks. My ideal forever home will have a fenced yard so we can play fetch together every day - doesn't that sound like living the dream? You can also call me little miss smartypants, too: I am already potty trained and know commands including sit, down, and shake. In pretty typical beagle fashion, sometimes I am too smart for my own good and can find creative ways to try and escape. For example, I know how to open doors that have lever handles instead of knobs. Crazy smart, right!? So I will thrive with attentive humans who will keep an eye on me and keep me out of trouble. In return for your protection and love, I can promise a lifetime of laughs, amazing snuggles, and devotion. I hope you fill out an adoption application soon because I am ready to settle into your home and heart!Love,Little LouiseIf you'd like to adopt this dog, please get started by filling out a complete application (incomplete submissions cannot be sent.) Please note that while we take time to learn as much as we can about each dog in our care as possible, our bios are written from current observations. Though we do our best to share as much information as possible about each dog we care for, we are unable to make any guarantees on the future health or temperament of your adopted dog. Most dogs in our care come with unknown pre-rescue history, and information pertaining to breed and age are often educated guesses.
