Story
Meet Liza! She is a 3 yr old female Beauceron/Lab Retriever mix that weighs 53lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 7/23 as a stray. This lovely girl is a beauty! She has a gentle soul, and she shows it with how she takes treats, walks well on a leash, and enjoys being petted and having her ears scratched. First thing she did when we came into the room is find the fluffy dog bed and told me that it was hers! Its clear Liza wants to find her own loving family that can provide her a secured backyard to play in, but lived indoors, taking those long snoozes on her own dog bed. As we walked past the other dogs barking she did show interest in them, but no aggression. We do always ask if there is another dog in the home to please ask the shelter for a dog test. She enjoyed taking in all the smells when we went for a walk so please come spend time with her, take her for a walk and see if you can offer her the loving forever home she deserves.

Ms. Chloe is a handsome, 10 month old German Shepherd mix, weighing in at about 46 lbs.  She's a delightful girl who wants to please her people, is quick to learn routines, and who bonds closely with those who show her affection! If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Chloe is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.August 15, 2024, 9:45 pm

Story
Rocky is a sweet, playful pup who loves fetch and cuddles. He had a rough start in life due to his birth defect that left his hind legs paralyzed. Despite his difficulties, he definitely knows how to enjoy life to the fullest! He doesn’t know he is any different than his foster brothers and makes friends with everyone he meets. He loves kids, cats and dogs and never meets a stranger. His hobbies include running outside in his wheelchair and playing inside in his scooter. His care usually consists of snapping him into his mobility devices and letting him go. He wears belly bands inside since his bladder control is slightly limited due to the paralysis. Luckily, aside from this he is house trained and tells you when he needs to go potty. His temperament is very calm for a puppy, though he will experience the zoomies on occasion and burn some rubber in the yard! Story
Beau is a beautiful 64 lb, 3-year old German Shepherd mix. He loves walks, fetch, zoomies in the backyard, car rides, doggie daycare, humans, and other dogs. No cats!!! Beau is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained, although he still pulls a little on the leash and will need help with that. Beau was rescued from being an outside dog 24/7, regardless of the weather. His previous owners also declined heartworm preventative for Beau and he has tested positive as a result. We are paying for Beau’s heartworm treatment and are committed to fostering him until his forever home is found. Please know that if Beau were not cat-aggressive, we would be his forever home. He is an incredibly good boy! Sadly his behavior with our cats is not okay, and our attempts to train him otherwise have failed. We know there is a great (cat-free) home out there for Beau. Perhaps it’s yours!!
