Story
This sweet, beautiful girl is Ogallala but everyone calls her Olga. She came to Soul Dog in 2021 fearful and feral. Over the past year in her current foster home, she has gradually blossomed from spending all her time cowering in the corner to spending most of her time lying relaxed in the corner. Olga is very fearful, but also very sweet and gentle. Her instinct is to get away, avoid detection, and be left alone. For the first several months in her current foster home, Olga hid in her selected corner and only snuck around at night to eat. She is not housebroken and has selected a spot in the house where she feels safe going potty. After several months in the house, she started to feel comfortable enough to look out the windows, and then even venture outside onto the balcony. As she has gotten comfortable and gained confidence, she has begun to show affection, as well as a bit of a playful, rambunctious side. She will occasionally join the family on the sofa and will even solicit attention once in a while. She hit a big milestone a couple months ago when she started barking at people from the window and balcony instead of hiding from them. (We are now working on stopping that behavior.) Although she has gained a lot of confidence, Olga still has a lot of fears and triggers. She is terrified of people and loud sounds, and anything that sounds like banging. The sounds of roofers or even kids playing basketball will send her running. She is a master escape artist and bolts when she gets scared, so you will need to be careful and vigilant and have a solid fence. She will go to her next home with a GPS collar just in case. She has come a long way over the past year with her foster and is starting to learn that some people and places aren't so bad. She needs a kind and understanding person to give her the patience, quiet, time, and love that she desperately needs.

Story
Arvada, CO Roo -- named after our favorite music festival Bonnaroo -- is a healthy, lively, playful, snuggly, very intelligent 8 year old pup. She loves walks, fetch, hiking, and puppuccinos. We're so saddened to need to re-home, but we know this is the best for her as she can't be in a home with small children like our 1 year old baby. Her lack of compatibility with small children is a breed thing and a safety concern so we're only considering adopters who have older children (preferably 12+ years old) or no children. She knows several commands, has excellent recall, doesn't jump on furniture unless given permission, and more. Some commands and skills will probably need to be reinforced the first week or so as she learns her place within her new pack. Roo is on a monthly Trifexis dose and had her Rabies, Bordatella, and DAPP just updated in July 2024. She's also undergone semi-annual health exams and annual dental cleanings since she was a puppy to ensure great health.

Story
Meet Kai! Currently in Durango. Kai is a total sweetheart! He is a cuddlebug and prefers the couch and plushy beds to being outside (though he loves to hang in pools during the summer LOL) He likes to act like he's an athlete going for good walks and enjoying agility club but in reality his legs get sore from time to time and he needs to be monitored so he doesn't go to hard on them. He has had an acl repair. We had xrays taken this year and his legs are okay but as with any major injury, he'll feel it as he gets older.  Kai has become my building buddy, hanging with us as we do construction on our new training room. He ignores the loud tools and just curls up happy to be hanging inside with us :) Easy on a leash, great walking even with another dog, needs a sweater! :)   ##562396##
