Story
We adopted Jessy from a Petco Adoption event when she was 4 months old. She is currently 6 years old. We think that Jessy would flourish in a quiet home that does not have a lot of people going in and out. She sometimes gets nervous and is afraid of strangers which is stressful for both her and the family because she barks when she is nervous. We would describe Jessy as fun (as long as she is around her family), and sweet. She loves to get brushed, but does not like going for walks as she becomes afraid. She is gentle with children and is not a threat. She is also house-trained.

Story
Livy is sure to put a smile (as big as hers) on your face at the end of a long hard day! This little lady loves to play with other pups, loves to play fetch and loves all the nice people that she meets! She'll be a marvelous addition to any loving home. Livy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event! The adoption fee is $600 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Mr. Jim is a laid back, no nonsense dog. Yes, he loves his playtime but generally he loves his chill time. He will 100% investigate every inch of your property but he will assure you that is for your protection. Give ole young Jim a chance. I’m sure he could help you pick out a great insurance policy! Story
Available In Old Lyme, CT This very handsome dude is Kumo! He is currently in a board/train facility in CT. He is a 2 year old energetic boy. After working with him I have learned that the best place for him would be a place with no children or other animals and an area that will have a fenced in yard with a calm area neighborhood. Kumo is a young energetic dog that loves to eat. Kumo knows his basic commands and tries to push the envelope when it come to wait and stay. When he relaxing he would prefer to be left alone. Kumo enjoys his chew toys. Kumo needs time to warm up to new people. He likes to be asked to do something over being pushed physically. Kumo will go far in the right home. He wants to work and be loved. Kumo likes to walk, jog, snuggle and get lots of pets. He is high energy with a big appetite. Kumo is neutered, current on immunizations, housebroken and on preventatives. If you think this boy is a good fit for your family, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts. Disclosure: Kumo has a bite history, however he has been in a board/train facility for a few months and the trainer has seen no sign of this behavior.

Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- North Branford, CT Meet Kylo! He is an 3 year old Miniature American Shepherd and weighs 25 lbs. He is microchipped and on heartworm prevention, but isn’t neutered or up to date on shots. Kylo is fearful of strangers, but is very sweet once he gets to know you! No kids, cats, or dogs, due to his reactivity! Kylo has bitten the owner’s 3 year old daughter several times as she walked past him. He also growls when she walks near him. The owner is surrendering him because he doesn’t do well with small children. He needs to find a new home as soon as possible. If you think you can provide a great home for Kylo, please contact the owner listed below. There is a rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Kylo. Owner’s Contact Information: Kyle k.villano@yahoo.com
