Name: Halle  *Age: 4 years old *Current Weight: 43 lbs *Adoption fee: $475  Meet Halle!! This girl is the definition of resilience! Halle came from a high kill shelter in Texas where she was seen shaking and hiding in the corner. She wouldn’t come out, even for food. SNARR was asked to pull her and indeed we did! Halle is safe and sound at our Adoption Center and is so ready to continue onto the next chapter of her life in a foster or adopted home! We believe Halle to be a border collie/lab mix around 4 years old. She has a stunning luscious black coat with golden brown undertones when the light hits it just right! One ear stands straight up while the other flops at the midway point. Halle is an absolute doll; inside and out! Halle does exceptionally well with dogs her size or larger. In fact, she is our go-to Tester Dog at the Adoption Center! Halle would do great in a home with another dog no dogs under 40 pounds or kitties for this girl!  Halle has come a long way since her first day with us. She used to hide and cower away as we came near. Now Halle greets us at the door and calmly obliges as we leash her up for the next activity! She also used to hide and shiver in the yards when we brought her out. Now she zooms around the yard and even engages in play with us! She walks in step with you on the leash. Slowing down when you slow down, stopping when you stop. A walk with Halle is dreamy. It’s been an amazing journey watching Halle gain confidence and learn to trust humans again. We are so eager to get her into a home of her very own. Could that be you?! Halle is currently located at our Adoption Center in Brewster, NY. Come out and pay her a visit! Story
Nova is an 8 month old Aussie/Border Collie. She is looking for a job to keep her busy. She never lived in a house, was never on a leash or had a collar on. She was surrendered to Animal Control due to the fact they just left her run all over and were going to be facing tickets due to leash laws and dog running at large. She is somewhat timid, but is being a good girl in the house and learning manners. She is housebroke using a doggie door. She gets along with the other dogs, but would recommend no small dogs because she wants to boss them around. She has the tendency to be jealous of other dogs getting your attention. And a fenced yard so she can run & play with balls & frisbees. She is a smart dog, just needs the right person to bring her best out of her. She sleeps beside the human bed at night and doesn't make a peep. She has taken a liken to the man of the house so might be a good companion to a male that likes to do outside activities like hiking, 4 wheeling, and so many options she would be up too. Nova is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested positive for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! Story
Scottie is a complete gem of a pup. He absolutely LOVES other dogs and would do best with another. He has a shy manner and will thrive in a loving home that will help build his confidence and show him lots of reassurance. Scottie has made great progress in his foster home. He is very lovable and loves hanging out on the sofa with his foster family and playing in the snow. His foster has this to say about him: He is totally crate trained and potty trained. He has learned how to sit and he’s the sweetest boy ever. He’s learning to enjoy car rides, and he loves to snuggle on the couch or anywhere really. He loves his crate and sleeps soundly all night. He’s so handsome and pretty close to perfect This good boy is going to make a wonderful addition to his new home. Scottie Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event! The adoption fee is $600 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Story
Ms Lulu is quite the character! She is happy and funny and Loves to run and run. When she stops, she stops! She took over the house and yard the first day protecting and keeping all threats away from the fence. She is a snuggler and will sit on the couch and sleep in the big person bed or an open crate. She does prowl and protect through the night. She is house trained and uses a doggy door. Lulu is okay with small dogs but maybe no dog under 20lbs until proper intros are made - otherwise male or female dogs are fine. No idea about cats. She is a cattle dog and seems as if she may have been trained to herd beyond what comes natural? She got out of the gate once and was fine with the goat and chickens. Cattle and horses would be safe. She is an active working dog who would love an active lifestyle if you can provide it. She loves the water too. She will herd children by nipping on their heels so maybe a bit older children who understand that's just what her breed does and won't cry. She does pretty well on a leash, rides in the car like a pro, loves puppies because she was a mom a time or two. Her tongue hangs out and her jaw is a bit off (maybe birth defect or an injury) but it does not affect her appetite! She is spayed, HW negative and up to date on shots. Lulu is a really sweet dog and wants a home of her own. please apply at www.krrtx.org/forms Please note Lulu is in San Antonio, TX and is available to be transported to your location with Your TX Rescue Connection transport. The fee includes adoption and transportation fee.
