The owner of Nelly (mom) and Bruce (dad) unfortunately wound up in jail and obviously couldn't take care of this little family so they were surrendered to us on the day they were born. There are special dogs in this world. You know them when you meet them. Just like people,Kaye they are all special for their own reasons. Our blue eyed Kaye is a former mama dog that had several litters before she was two years old. Down in a very rural area of Tennessee, we had apparently helped an earlier litter get adopted out after they were found on an isolated country highway. They looked exactly like her, but yet we did not know who or where she was yet. Six months later, Kaye was discovered by an older couple that had found the previous puppies, and she was very pregnant again. We are adopting those puppies out now and they are precious like their mom. Blue Eyed Kaye probably had never had fun in her life until she came in to our foster care. Now she's having the time of her life. She's able to play and be loved and have fun. Being a stray for most of your life and having litter after litter of puppies with nowhere to go, is pretty sobering. Her beautiful blue eyes now dance with joy and delight as she plays with the resident foster dog who is half her size. Kaye is a Border Collie, Aussie and Pointer mix. She is around two years old and 47 pounds. This girl learned the doggy door within hours of arrival and she definitely hates crates. GOOD NEWS IS.... when left out during the day, she does not destroy a thing. She is very respectful. This girl has just the right energy for playfulness, and then chill time. She loves all creatures and would be a great family companion who would be wonderful with children. She can live with other dogs or cats. Or she could be a single family pet. All Kaye wants is love. This girl is approximately 4-5 months old.And weighs twenty eight pounds. Her adult weight should be about 45 pounds.Her story is not uncommon in the south, but it definitely was one of abuse or more accurately qualified as neglect. She was located in a very small pin that was outside with very little cover. No straw low temperatures and food thrown on the ground without a bowl and frozen water in the water bucket her owner was actually homeless and not even in the area due to illness. This handsome scruffy black and white darling boy is called Ross and we have determined that he is a Border Collie/Border Terrier mix that is estimated to be 5 months old and weighs 14 pounds and destined to be around 35 pounds as an adult. This boy and his sister, Rachel, were abandoned in a small rural area of Tennessee at a cabin that was a parttime retreat for a family that lived 200 miles away. Fortunately ,the cabin’s doorbell camera caught these puppies being abandoned and alerted the property owner that these poor puppies were in trouble with no food or water anywhere around. To make matters worse, impending frigid weather was on its way to their area. The doors opened and rescue forces got to work quickly to go and pick up the puppies and carry them to a Critter Cavalry Rescue foster home. This puppy and his sister are both smart and anxious to please. Ross wants to be someone's special Valentine. He is crate trained and learning what it's like to be in a warm and loving home. It's hard to imagine that only 2 weeks ago some cold-hearted person dumped him and his sister Rachel to possibly die from lack of care or food. God was with them in finding immediate help and they have been worth every effort. So sweet and loving and innocent. Beautiful pups with wiry faces and sleek Terrier bodies that bring a smile when you meet them. Ross is being neutered on Feb. 4th and will be ready for a forever home on Valentine’s Day. We estimate that he will grow to be a 40 pound handsome boy that will bring so much fun, love and adventure to the person or persons who adopt him. With a healthy diet, steady wellness plan and some guidance from the vet Jeff grew into the healthy boy you see today! A border collie mix with incredible focus, a strong intellect and an active athleticism, there is no doubt Jeff is gifted with the traits of his working dog roots. At the same time, this boy has a silly side that will have you giggling in no time! When his work is done Jeffery engages with his people, letting them know just how happy he is to be with them with his wiggly behind and his cartoonishly long tongue. Jeff gets along well with his canine companions, though maybe not as much as his off-the-charts adoration of his people. He typically tends to like more playful lighthearted dogs, especially younger females! He can typically be found romping around in the heat of the action when in a group for play, but don't be mistaken, Jeffery is ready at a moment's notice to drop everything for a round of fetch or a chance to learn something new. After being given time and space to assess the situation, Jeff is more willing to engage in some "get to know" time with treat exchange or an offering of a ball toss particularly if it squeaks and will loosen up. Madison is a very sweet senior looking for her forever home. She was brought to a local shelter when her owner passed away and family members were unable to care for her. She was in rough shape with large infected bleeding masses along her back, but she's recovered well from surgery to remove them and they were all benign! On arrival we noticed her seeming to be very thirsty and constantly emptying water bowls, and further testing confirmed that she does have Cushing's Disease. It's very manageable with daily pills which she takes easily in food and her symptoms are being controlled. She's currently in foster but would love a forever home where she will be cared for in her golden years, whatever quality time she has. She's about 50 lbs full grown and 14 years old, and lovely girl who seems to be gentle and getting along with other calmer dogs and loves being around people. This precious girl came from one of the worst hoarding situations that we have ever dealt with. there were over 100 dogs on the property, none of them spayed or neutered. Finally, the authorities went in and they managed to get ALL of the dogs out of there. Filthy dirty situation, sick puppies, you name it. We choose to take Blossom home to our rescue because her eyes were begging us for love and attention. She was very pregnant and two weeks after arriving, she gave birth to 7 heathy puppies! Every single puppy was different, every singe puppy had a different daddy! We think that Blossom had never been paid any attention to because she was so shy. Once we weaned her babies we took her out of the nursery and into the house where she just blossomed! That's how she got her name! Her puppies have long since been adopted and now it's her turn. We actually did a DNA on her and it came back with 4 different breeds, which we kind of figured from the beginning. Australian Cattle Dog, Labrador Retriever, Pit Bull, Boxer. Yes, she is truly a "Mutt!. She is extremely smart and will do anything for a treat. I want her to have a nice fenced yard with lots of room to run. Cattle dogs are working dogs and they need lots of exercise! She is spayed, crate trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped and house broken, truly a gem! Ready for immediate transport. Their mother was barely hanging on to life. Ernie is a really delightful and well adjusted 6-month-old puppy that weighs 26 lb. He is a friendly little guy that enjoys meeting people and loves to chase a ball and bring it back to you.
