We are calling them "Border Bullies"! Mama is a Border Collie, dad is a Pit Bull! I cannot imagine how smart these pups will be! They were born on October 13th. The owner of Nelly (mom) and Bruce (dad) unfortunately wound up in jail and obviously couldn't take care of this little family so they were surrendered to us on the day they were born. Both mom and dad have beautiful temperaments so I am quite sure these pups will be amazing! They will be available for adoption by January 11, 2025. They are all spayed/neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. How can you resist!! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! Story
**Located in Korea** Finishing heartworm treatment. Rescued from the local shelter in South Korea the same day he was scheduled to be euthanized. He is estimated to be up to 2 years old and looks like a Border Collie and Jindomix. He is not very interested in playing with other dogs and is more interested in exploring and going for walks. He doesn't have separation anxiety, but when he's with people, he's always hovering over them or asking to be petted. However, it's better to give him time to adjust to the new dog, with a reasonable distance, rather than showing affection. He has a demanding bark and doesn't like to be chased by other dogs, is not picky about food and barks at strangers. Recommended to be adopted by a family with no children and a regular routine lifestyle.ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States. ##2152589##

Jatelo is a very cuddly and energetic young dog. He is just over a year old. We got him from a co-worker whose friend is a Border Collie breeder. We hope he can find home where he gets all the attention and time he needs and maybe gets a little yard or outdoor space to run around in or just watch the world go by. He does love to do this and it keeps him constantly entertained :)

Story
Meet Penny, a affectionate canine who adores the great outdoors and has a hearty appetite. She is a rescue dog from Texas, born in November 2023, and has been a cherished member of our family since February 2024. Unfortunately, my partner's chronic COPD has made it impossible for us to continue caring for Penny, so we are seeking a loving home for her. Penny is up-to-date on all of her vaccinations and has been spayed. She deserves a forever home where she will be cherished and cared for.

Story
LUDACRIS - 4 months, 27lbs, BC Mix, Neutered Expected Full Grown Size About 45lbs This puppy is joining Social Tees on 1/11 and is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program starting that day. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Level of dog ownership experience needed:INTERMEDIATE: As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Relevant puppy care experience is a huge plus, but bare minimum the adopter must have TONS of time and patience. Raising a puppy can be a lot of fun, but it’s also  tremendous work. Puppies’ personalities and exercise/stimulation requirements change dramatically between now and when they’re a year old as their bodies and brains develop, so an active lifestyle and the ability to adapt to a pup’s evolving needs are a must. We strongly urge professional dog training with a rewards based trainer from the get go. Adults only or kids ages 8 and up – all puppies go through a mouthy, rambunctious phase and often accidentally hurt children when playing. PLEASE DO YOUR OWN BREED RESEARCH to make sure you have a better understanding of the kind of temperament and exercise requirements this dog may have as an adult. Energy levelMEDIUM: Very young puppies sleep and nap a lot, but their energy level skyrockets when they become teens (4 months to around a year). As an adult, this dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day at a minimum. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty trained?Working on this skill. Puppies under 12 weeks old are often on track with their wee pad skills, but they’re too young to walk outside in public NYC areas yet because they haven’t finished their puppy vaccine series. Puppies older than 12 weeks are usually learning to do their business outside. Potty training takes a lot of patience, consistency, and clean up.  Crate trained?Nope. None of our new puppies have been formally trained, but many of our foster parents/adopters choose to crate train. It can be a great way to keep puppies safe and teach them independence. Social with dogs?Yes. Some puppies are shy, others are bold, but all have the potential to be taught healthy socializing skills. It’s a huge part of raising a puppy and must be done carefully. How they interact with other dogs depends largely on how their humans help them learn to.  Social with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)Yes… but most puppies are not a great match for a home with kids under age 8 because they go through intense mouthy play and rambunctious phases and often accidentally hurt young kids while playing. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.   Social with cats?Yes. Almost all puppies have the potential to be friends with a cat. It’s on the adopter to know their cat’s temperament and preferences and to teach their puppy respectful manners.  Mouthy play: High! All puppies go through phases where they chew your stuff and grab your hands, arms, feet… puppies naturally explore the world, play, and test boundaries with their mouths. (It also happens when they’re teething.) Their teeth are super sharp though, so it can be a very painful phase for humans and other animals in the home. Proper training, outlets, and socialization are key. Leash manners:None. :) Will need to learn this skill.   Separation anxiety:MEDIUM: Most puppies have some level of separation anxiety as they learn to self soothe. Often they cry the first 10+ minutes when they are left home alone or in a crate. Consistent training and alone time is crucial. Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP and Bordetella vaccines (for dogs under 4 months old, adopters will need to finish the DHPP vaccine series and administer the Rabies vaccine at 16 weeks of age), spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer uponHow this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes.  ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)         Age :2Sex: female Weight: 20 lbs aprox Spayed: yesVaccines: yes up to dateGood with dogs: yesGood with cats: yesHouse broken: yes Medical issues: broken leg (repaired)TVT tumor (treated)Blind Trischa rescue story: Trischa was brought to our attention by a local. We fell in love with her adorable face, we decided to help find her a loving home. However, we had no idea what challenges lay ahead. Initially, we thought all she needed was a spay, but this marked the beginning of a rescue journey filled with unexpected surprises. When Trischa arrived, we discovered she had a TVT tumor, so we promptly enrolled her in chemotherapy at the vet clinic. This treatment lasted a month. During her time there, we noticed she walked slowly and seemed hesitant, which the vet attributed to the side effects of her chemotherapy. After she recovered from the TVT, we decided to have her leg examined, only to find out it had been broken for months and hidden beneath her long furAfter returning to the clinic for leg repair, Trischa  spent several more weeks recovering. Finally, she was able to go home with a foster. However, this was where we encountered our third surprise: Trischa displayed some unusual behaviors. She wouldn’t eat around other dogs, was easily startled, and often bumped into things. We suspected that one of her eyes might be impaired. A visit back to the clinic confirmed our fears—one eye was completely blind, and the other only had 20 percent visionIt’s truly heartbreaking to realize that this little girl spent her life on the streets, struggling to survive against larger dogs, all while being blind, having a broken leg, and dealing with a TVT tumor. About Trischa.  We name her after blind Olympian Trischa Zorn Trischa is an incredibly sweet and dainty little girl. Although she may initially seem a bit timid, she quickly warms up to those around her. At first, we thought this was just part of her personality, but after discovering that she is blind, we realized her shyness stems from her inability to see and her confusion in new surroundings. Once she becomes familiar with her environment, she feels relaxed and at ease.Trischa enjoys playing with other friendly dogs, but it's best to feed her alone and away from them, as she cannot see their body language. She walks well on a leash and loves to snuggle on the couch for cuddles. It might take her a few days to adjust to a new home, but she does have 20 percent vision in one eye, which helps her somewhat—though she still occasionally bumps into things. She’s a wonderful dog who just needs a little time to adapt, but I assure you, she will settle in beautifully.         All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.

Story
This precious girl came from one of the worst hoarding situations that we have ever dealt with. there were over 100 dogs on the property, none of them spayed or neutered. Finally, the authorities went in and they managed to get ALL of the dogs out of there. Filthy dirty situation, sick puppies, you name it. We choose to take Blossom home to our rescue because her eyes were begging us for love and attention. She was very pregnant and two weeks after arriving, she gave birth to 7 heathy puppies! Every single puppy was different, every singe puppy had a different daddy! We think that Blossom had never been paid any attention to because she was so shy. Once we weaned her babies we took her out of the nursery and into the house where she just blossomed! That's how she got her name! Her puppies have long since been adopted and now it's her turn. We actually did a DNA on her and it came back with 4 different breeds, which we kind of figured from the beginning. Australian Cattle Dog, Labrador Retriever, Pit Bull, Boxer. Yes, she is truly a "Mutt!. She is extremely smart and will do anything for a treat. I want her to have a nice fenced yard with lots of room to run. Cattle dogs are working dogs and they need lots of exercise! She is spayed, crate trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped and house broken, truly a gem! Ready for immediate transport. Ginger's mom was a very good friend to all of us here at the rescue. When she unexpectedly passed away, we took this sweet girl in immediately and she has been a joy to have around. Our friend had a bit of a heavy hand with the treats and Ginger was waaaay over weight! We put her on a diet right away and she is now slim and trim and ready to go to her forever home. Don't let her age hold you back, she is VERY active and healthy. Heart worm negative, crate trained, house broken and just a delight. She's fine with all dogs, kids and cats. She acts like a puppy and just loves to run and play. Let's give her a chance at a forever home!
