Strudel is a sweet, playful boy. He has typical puppy energy and a captivating personality! He loves to play ball with our volunteers, but is also happy entertaining himself with toys. It’s impossible not to laugh when spending time with this engaging pup! We have just started working with Strudel on leash manners and some basic obedience; he’s smart and treat-motivated, a combination that makes training a breeze. Strudel has a wonderful temperament and would do well with an active family. Please help us get this cutie out of the shelter and into a loving home as quickly as possible! Meet this goofy girl Gordy! She is about 6 to 8 months old and is about 25 to 45 lbs. She is a mix of what we believe is a border collie/bull terrier mix. She was dropped in the middle of a field and left there to starve to death. She was so scared of people and did not trust us at first. She was never wanting to bite, but was for sure scared of people. We got her more comfy with being around everyone, but will need a slow introduction. She is good with other dogs and kids, but with chase a cat when it runs, not to get it, but just to play. She is working on those manners. She is a great girl and deserves all the love she can get.

Meet Valley! Valley is a 1 year old mixed breed female. This animal is coming up on a transport to the NJ Area on April 10th and is looking for a foster home to go into. There are multiple shelters down south that are overcrowded and Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue partners with these shelters to move the animals into foster homes in the North East before they are adopted into their forever family homes. Pixie is a border collie mixed-breed rescue who could be your heart dog. She is a sweet love sponge with people. But she was attacked by a dog in a dog park this past September 2023, at 11 months. Since then, she has become increasingly reactive towards other dogs and my cat. She is so young and has significant strengths (food motivated, highly intelligent, coachable, affectionate). And since she is in physical pain, it is hard to know how much she could improve if her pain were brought under control/managed. She would do best as the only pet in a household with no children and attentive, experienced owners with a backyard and/or lake access in a quiet neighborhood. She is young, and I know she can grow into a confident dog with the right environment and support. She is a huge cuddle bug at home who can go the distance outdoors. She would be a great dog sport or running companion once her pain is treated. She is happiest in her spot with a peanut butter kong or swimming!
