Story
This dog is part of our shelter outreach program where we take dogs from overcrowded shelters in hopes of finding them a forever home here! We generally do not have much background info on them and cannot guarantee they are housebroken.  They are all up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped.   6-7 months old.  30lbs with a little more growing to do.  Extra high energy.  Looking for an active home with a fenced yard.  Training classes required.  He is still a puppy and needs to learn basic manners.  Kids 8+  *Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years.March 11, 2025, 8:39 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Strudel, an adorable 8-month-old puppy! Strudel is a mixed breed (maybe a Border Collie mix) and currently weighs 35 lbs. Strudel is a sweet, playful boy. He has typical puppy energy and a captivating personality! He loves to play ball with our volunteers, but is also happy entertaining himself with toys. It’s impossible not to laugh when spending time with this engaging pup! We have just started working with Strudel on leash manners and some basic obedience; he’s smart and treat-motivated, a combination that makes training a breeze. Strudel has a wonderful temperament and would do well with an active family. Please help us get  this cutie out of the shelter and into a loving home as quickly as possible! If you’d like to meet Strudel, please fill out an application on our website at rescueridge.com. If your application is a possible match, a volunteer will reach out to you to schedule a meet. Story
Hello! Diego is an absolutely wonderful dog. He's a sweetheart, wants all of the love and play, and happily will go from just chilling with you on the couch to running around playing all day! We had him before we had our child, and unfortunately he has become jealous of her. He has never bit or attacked her ( he's actually wonderful with her and knows to be gentle) but he now pees on her toys and out of jealousy. I hate to see him be unhappy and he deserves a home where he doesn't need to feel this way:( He lives with a cat (not a fan buy doesn't attack him, will chase) He has never attacked me or anyone, and plays great with other dogs! Truly the only problem we have is his jealousy of our child and we just want him happy

Story
Meet this goofy girl Gordy! She is about 6 to 8 months old and is about 25 to 45 lbs. She is a mix of what we believe is a border collie/bull terrier mix. She was dropped in the middle of a field and left there to starve to death. She was so scared of people and did not trust us at first. She was never wanting to bite, but was for sure scared of people. We got her more comfy with being around everyone, but will need a slow introduction. She is good with other dogs and kids, but with chase a cat when it runs, not to get it, but just to play. She is working on those manners. She is a great girl and deserves all the love she can get.
