Story
George Bailey George Bailey is looking for a 'wonderful life.' Would you please give it to him? This handsome boy is a Border Collie mix. He is very sweet and friendly. He is an active boy, ~ 8 yrs. old, and is best in a home without young children. He needs an active but calmer home. He is best in a home that will give him plenty of exercise. George lived in a foster home with a Pit Bull Terrier, a Setter, and a Rat Terrier and did well with them. If you have an active but quiet home with older children, please apply to adopt this loving, people and dog-friendly, housebroken boy, at rescueridge.com and if your application is a possible match a volunteer will get back to you shortly. If you do not hear from us, your application might not match this dog's needs but may match another one of our dogs. Please see our website and let us know. Story
In Nov. 2020, my family adopted a (roughly) 3-month-old Loki from a shelter while we were living in Texas. Loki is a smart cookie, so smart that sometimes his anxiety can get the best of him. He loves other dogs once he gets to know them, but can be standoffish and barky at first. Having another dog friend in the house would be perfect for him, but that isn't something we could do. He grew up around 3 cats and 2 kids. We worry that because he is a COVID dog, he didn't get to be around people enough as a young pup and is generally anxious when strangers are around, so we think that a quieter house without kids would be best for him. He takes to training well now that he's older and is HIGHLY food motivated. He loves snow, peanut butter, car rides, tug-of-war, and, of course, lots of petting. He also prances like a show pony when he walks. My family can no longer give him the kind of life he deserves, and we want him to have the best life possible. He is also quite handsome. ;)

Story
Meet this goofy girl Gordy! She is about 6 to 8 months old and is about 25 to 45 lbs. She is a mix of what we believe is a border collie/bull terrier mix. She was dropped in the middle of a field and left there to starve to death. She was so scared of people and did not trust us at first. She was never wanting to bite, but was for sure scared of people. We got her more comfy with being around everyone, but will need a slow introduction. She is good with other dogs and kids, but with chase a cat when it runs, not to get it, but just to play. She is working on those manners. She is a great girl and deserves all the love she can get.

Story
Meet Oakley! Saved from Dallas Fort Worth Shelter from euthanasia! She was an owner surrender and was surrendered with another dog as well. She is dog, and kid friendly but we do not recommend her with any small animals at all! She would not be good with them. She loves to get your attention and would thrive in a household that just wants to show her nothing but love and affection. She has alot of energy and would also do best in an active household and is required to have a fenced in yard. She has nothing but love to give and wants to play. She is gaining great leash manners and with correction understands that pulling is a no-no and is working on her training skills. Contact us or put in an application for Oakley!
