This week guy was left locked in a cage for a couple of months. Since he's been in rescue, he is very affectionate and playful. Loves dogs, and kids but not a cat guy. We think he's about three years old and he weighs 40 pounds. Would love to have someone to run and play tug with. He would love a fun active family. Candy is a sweet 45 pound 18 month old girl who has been well loved but not understood by her first time dog owner family. Candy is house trained & crate trained. She has grown up with a five-year-old child and is used to a lot of hubbub with children coming in and out of the house. She would do well with a confident & active human who understands how to train a dog. This smart girl will be a great jogging partner or agility dog. All our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have been dewormed and are current on vaccinations. Our adoption fee includes 30 days of complimentary medical insurance for your new pet. Breed and size is frequently a guess and can not be guaranteed. Our dogs are fostered on a private residence, we do not have a free standing shelter. They live on a farm where they run and play with other dogs, cats, horses, and barnyard fowl. Initial contact with us must be made through e-mail. E-mail ARFofMercer@gmail.com directly for an adoption application or with any questions. Once your adoption application is approved, you will be invited to meet our dogs/puppies.

Story

Brio is a real sweetheart who needs a home that will give her attention and lots of love. Brio is from Washington state and is now staying with me in New Jersey. I am heartbroken that I am unable to keep her due to my housing situation but I hope that she can find happiness with a new family. Brio needs someone who understands anxiety and respects boundaries because she has had a rough past. That resulted in her having spots on her body that are triggering when touched. When she feels like her boundaries are being pushed she will freak out and show her teeth and look like she's trying to bite you, but she's never actually bit anyone- she just does this to protect herself. Brio would do best in a home without other dogs although she is able to live with them- she came from a farm with 2 other dogs. Part of her anxiety comes from her being attacked by a dog so she is hesitant with other dogs and doesn't like to play with them. However she LOVES to play with humans.

While originally suspected to be an Eskimo / Poodle mix, Lucky has actually turned out to be a 32+ lb Border Collie / Terrier mix. Lucky is incredibly smart, trusting, and loving with a big appetite for life. She was rescued from an over-breeding situation and lived with a foster before going to her first family with another, dog, a cat, and two small chidren. Based on the surprises of her breed, size, energy level, and mental enrichment needs, Lucky's family is incompatible with her lifestyle. Her current family has progressed her training to include crate training, leash walking, and almost total housebreaking with the assistance of a professional AKC dog trainer. Lucky would thrive with an active companion looking for a pup to love. She loves walks, sticks, and treats. Her sharp mind means she can get bored easily, and so she does best with extra mental stimulation and lots of exercise. She is good with kids but her energy level may be not optimal for toddlers and younger.
