Story
Friendly Finn is a lucky dog.  You know one of those who was in a really bad shelter that was run by lazy people who didn’t care if any of the dogs got out alive.  He is a handsome and very friendly Border Collie/Pointer mix that is truly a good looking dog who is about 3 years old, fully vetted, 35 pounds and was at the shelter for 2 years.  TRUTH!   How awful that this beautiful soul was there in that dirty place and in the tiny kennel run with another dog. He wasn’t fed much and he is lucky to have survived the torture of that specific shelter.   Friendly is a good word for Finn since he is good with other dogs and kids unknown.  He is surprisingly very good on a leash, but his nerves can get the best of him when riding in a car.  He might need a little medication till he gets used to riding.  Finn needs a big yard or maybe daily trips to a dog park.  We want him to live a life that is not limited as he has experienced these past 2+ years in the shelter.  If you are interested in Fostering or Adopting Finn please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 20, 2024, 1:48 pm

Story
This beautiful young 4-month-old pup is called Roxy and she will rock your world with all the wonderful dog manners and beautiful personality that you could want in a dog. We think she is a smooth coat Border collie mix and is beautifully created with the most outstanding ears that captures all the attention when you look her way.  At approximately 4 months of age, she weighs 20 lb and is a delightful foster guest at the current home that is caring for her. She loves the young children there in the home and they love her. She's great with the cat, she's great with the dog, and honestly there is not a strang person that Roxy ever shies away from.  She is just about completely housebroken in literally 5 days. She's one of those rare, young dogs that makes adopting a puppy a breeze. She is eternally happy all the time and eager to go and do whatever you want to do.  We think she is going to reach an ultimate adult weight of about 40 to 45 lb. She's lovely in every way and will make a great first time dog to adopt or a second dog in the home. To say that she's a breeze to train is an understatement. Act quickly because this Roxy girl will be discovered by many. Story
male, 1 yr old, ~50 lbs Personality: quiet, good running partner, gentle, eager-to-please, outgoing, affectionate, energetic, patient, goofy/funny, adventurous, playful, and adaptable. Hi folks, I'm Colt and despite my name and perky ears, I am actually a dog, and quite a loveable one at that! I am sweet and friendly with humans and other canines. I love to go on walks, and just looking at someone approaching is enough to make my tail wag. I am a fun-loving and playful boy who thinks chewing my toys, playing fetch, and romping with the smaller dog at my foster home are all great pastimes. (I even know that I need to be extra gentle when I play with a dog who is about half my size.) Then when playtime is done, it's always lovely to curl up for a snooze. Want to know more about me? Well, I've been told I'm the most adorable shadow: I'm sure to be by your side wherever you go. I like to learn -- I've made tons of progress on house training, I'm good in the crate, and to top it off, I know the words "sit" and "no". So, let's plan a date. Bring your tennis ball and your A-game and see if there is a match. Maybe if you "pony up with some treats, we can work on some tricks. Apply today so I can meet you and melt your heart. If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Story
Jack is a lively, high-energy dog who`s ready to bring some excitement into your life! While he may seem a bit too enthusiastic in his kennel and outside, don`t let that deter you—he’s just eager to explore the world around him. He didn’t particularly enjoy other dogs passing by his kennel, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he isn’t dog-friendly. With the right introduction, he can do well with a canine companion. Behaviors inside a kennel are usually different outside a kennel.Jack went potty right away on his walk, suggesting he may be housebroken. He loves to jump and play, and he’s got a great nose for sniffing out treats. And he`s quite professional at catching treats, showing off his smart side. Jack enjoys running around and smelling the grass, but once he’s had a chance to burn off some energy, he calms down a bit. Jack would benefit from some basic training to help channel his enthusiasm into good manners. If you’re an active person looking for a smart, vibrant dog to keep up with you, Jack can be your match.
