Hi folks, I'm Colt and despite my name and perky ears, I am actually a dog, and quite a loveable one at that! I am sweet and friendly with humans and other canines. I love to go on walks, and just looking at someone approaching is enough to make my tail wag. I am a fun-loving and playful boy who thinks chewing my toys, playing fetch, and romping with the smaller dog at my foster home are all great pastimes. (I even know that I need to be extra gentle when I play with a dog who is about half my size.) Then when playtime is done, it's always lovely to curl up for a snooze.
Want to know more about me? Well, I've been told I'm the most adorable shadow: I'm sure to be by your side wherever you go. I like to learn -- I've made tons of progress on house training, I'm good in the crate, and to top it off, I know the words "sit" and "no".

City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).
Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis.
Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
