Unfortunately, Luna bonds strongly with people and is not a fan of most dogs. Though with proper introduction, she has played with other dogs. Her ideal home would be with a person or family familiar with this high energy breed mix, who can focus enough time on training and exercise. A fenced yard is a must, and NO city living. Border collies are a working breed, highly intelligent and need stimulation and direction.Luna is outgoing, curious, energetic and she would make an excellent companion for an active adopter. She loves playing fetch and going on long walks. A forever home with plenty of room to run would be ideal for this girl on the go. She is smart and well trained beyond the basic level. She knows the commands: leave it, sit, down, stay, off, let go, go to your bed, out of the kitchen and kennel up. Luna is also house broken and kennel trained, although she has not used a kennel in some time. There are no issues when she has free roam of the house. She will alert bark when someone is outside or at the door, and she is good with kids, but she needs to control her excitement at times and may knock any little ones down. Luna loves her people and will sit or lay right next to you whenever you are and, if you allow her, she will rest her head on your lap for a good pet and belly rub. Luna is very treat focused.Luna is just a great, fun-loving lady who can’t wait for you to throw that ball! With her super friendly nature, she will make a perfect partner on all of your adventures!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.
