Nearly fully potty trained and crate trained (he can hang out for almost four hours with no issues), Cosmo is smart, wiggly, and full of "boing-boing" energy, as his foster mom puts it. He sleeps through the night in his crate without accidents and already knows how to sit. Cosmo has even gone to work with his foster mom, where he was an excellent supervisor—completely unfazed by forklifts and happy to take it all in stride. This little guy loves to sniff and explore outside, play tug, and collect all his toys in one giant pile like a true toy connoisseur. He’s already been to a farmers market, where he was a total social butterfly, especially with kids! Meet Celeste Luna! She is currently 6 weeks old, and we think she may be a Border Collie / Pitbull mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! Luna was adopted in Spokane Wa from a shelter four years ago. She is 7 now, technically a large dog at around 65lbs. She's very high energy, loves to cuddle and loves snacks. I'm having to rehome her because I am working too much and she's spending too much time in her crate. She would do well in a home with someone who is home more often and has a yard. She will also need some better leash training. She is a Border Collie Mix but her other breed is unknown

DNA confirmed her cattle dog nature, and this Border Collie / Heeler mix is looking for an active home with adventures planned. In her foster home, Rosie has become the Fun Ambassador! It's all about play play play, run run run. She's great with the many foster dogs that have come and gone while we worked with Rosie. To help get Rosie ready for a forever home, we reached out to a local trainer. I think her trainer said it best - "working with her genetics and drive will be the top priority for Rosie's forever home." Olive with Bark Trek LOVES the working breeds. Working with Bark Trek - Rosie was given direction and the work included building her confidence around new people and new places, giving her a solid foundation for basic obedience, games and toy structure, and making sure she knows how to wear a muzzle with comfort and pride. Did we mention - Rosie is a SUPER smart, super border collie. That being said, we are looking for a home that: A) has Border Collie / Cattle Dog experience. B) has patience to work with Rosie BOTH with and without a trainer C) understands the concept of 3/3/3 and that Rosie will need time to settle into her new forever home. D) has another friendly dog or two, Rosie LOVES her playmates. We are willing to do a foster to adopt to make sure her placement is a good fit for Rosie and her new family. Because of her herding play we are asking for no small kids (16+ preferred). Her foster home has cats and Rosie does the 'boop' thing - so dog savvy cats are OK. She is VERY responsive to verbal corrections - again - smart. She is an alert barker by breed - and an experienced cattle dog person will know that. She turned a year old in November and weighs under 45#. This dog is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. She is on pet insurance and was cleared orthopedically. The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. Save-A-Mutt will require a training contract and $100 refundable deposit for this girl. You pick a trainer in your area, and upon completion of a 6+ week training class, we will refund the deposit. We can help you find a trainer. Adoptions typically take place in Marysville. Adoption fee is $375 + $100 refundable training deposit. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. Meet Jack! This handsome fellow is just waiting to become your new best friend! Jack is a happy go lucky guy who is a joy to be around. Everyone who meets him says what a nice boy he is. Jack came in to the shelter initially as a stray, so we do not know much about his history. Based off his teeth condition, his age is estimated to be around 3-5. We also believe his breed is likely a Border Collie mix. He has gotten along with all staff, volunteers, visitors, and even other dogs! But we have noted that he does seem fearful of small children, so we advise that he doesn’t not go to a home with any kids under the age of 12. Along with this, Jack has a high prey drive and would do best in a home without small dogs/cats/other Jack loves to play with toys of all kinds and is really a blast to be around. He has soulful eyes that look up at you with all the love in the world. Jack is still learning leash skills, and while he isn’t much of a puller, he can get a bit jumpy when excited. It’s not all the time jumpy, he just seems convinced that he is a lap dog and not a dog who weighs 60 lbs. Jack is neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on current vaccines! This super cutie has a soft and snuggly thick coat, PERFECT house manners and the sweetest habit of holding his toys with his paws while he nibbles on them. He’s a happy-go-lucky lover boy with an affinity for smooching! We think Monty is an Australian Cattle Dog, Labrador mix. He is a rescue, so these are just our best guesses! We estimate his age to be just over a year old, and he currently weighs in around 60 pounds. Perfect portable size! He does well with everyone in the house- playful with the younger playful pups, and respectful with the older, slower dogs. Here at the rescue, he did wonderfully with the other dogs he met. He was a good sport with our playful big dogs, playful, forgiving and sweet. In his forever home, we think Monty would be happiest with a medium to low energy tolerant dog that will play at times, but respect Monty’s medium energy. He settles well after playtime, and plays in short bursts before settling. His foster mom describes him as calm, a very good boy, and a fast learner. Here at the rescue we saw a huge improvement in his leash skills in just a few moments of work- he really is such a fast learner. Monty is treat motivated too, and a gentle treat-taker. Monty is really sweet the moment you meet him. He can be a little unsure and shy at first, but soft voices and a few treats warm him up quickly. He loves to snuggle his foster mom, and even sat in our laps here at the rescue. Such a sweet boy! Monty is a total toy lover too! It’s impossibly cute to watch, he likes to hold his toy in his paws and chew, or chase the toy as you toss it. Knowing Monty’s gentle and sweet personality, we think he would enjoy residential or suburban life more than city life. He could live with other dogs, but we don’t recommend him for a home with kitties. We think he could do well as a family dog with kids over ten years old! Her looks and personality lead us to believe she is a shepherd/collie/husky mix and we estimate her to be 3 years old. Breed and age are details we cannot offer 100% certainty on given the nature of rescue but some of her ease surely comes from being past the puppy/pre-teen years. Glenda absolutely adores kids and loves to cuddle with them, play with them, and is easy enough on leash that they can even walk her. She is currently fostered with a 5 year old, and 15 year old kids and does great with both. She is also fostered with 4 other dogs of different temperaments and energy levels, and she instinctively knows how to interact with all of them. She is the kind of dog that would enjoy a trip to the dog park, or doggy daycare. She really thrives both on human and canine companionship. Glenda would be best suited for a house with a yard to run and play freely, and a canine friend to play with. She would love regular walks or hikes, as well as enrichment activities. She has great basic leash skills, walking with an easy pace and passing dogs calmly, she will need a little guidance building her confidence in busier environments if that will be a regular part of your life together.
