We can only imagine the despair she must have felt. When she got to the rescue, she was skin and bones. But she was still giving kisses and wagging her tail when we got her at the rescue. Now Maddie is healthy, playful and energetic. Bonded with the boxer Odie, but apprehensive with the new dogs. Good with calm friendly dogs she knows. Needs a yard with 6' fence. Adoption fee $325. Buster has been doing very well. He is very smart and full of energy. He definitely will need someone who is active and can take him on walks. He still needs slow introductions with people. He can get a little worked up when meeting new people and he needs time to get to know them and trust them. He likes people but he needs trust. He does have some seasonal allergies and has been sneezing during these last few summer months. He also does not care for loud noises. They seem to make him scared. Dump trucks, leaf blowers, things like that. If we find ourselves near things like that I'll try and start walking in a different direction. He can be a scaredy cat, but that's ok. Buster has been working a lot on his training. Sit, stay, down, etc. He's been showing a lot of improvement. You can see that he has a good ability to listen and learn. He can be very stubborn sometimes, but after you work with him it eventually begins to sink in. You have to be very assertive and consistent with him. He really needs that. But once you do that, he listens and behaves. Buster is a very special boy. He has lots of energy, excitement, and love. He is very loyal and sweet. He needs to be with someone who is patient and caring. If you can be those things for him, it will be beyond worth it.
