Story
Available to the right adopter, who either has experience with scared dogs, or is willing to continue with her training. After spending several months with Ellie, she tells me she's for someone who is very physical. Like a long distance runner, or someone who is doing mountain climbing and would like a companion. Ellie is fantastic on the leash and will do best in a home with another confident dog and an owner who is going to take her running. Surely there's someone out there looking for an exercise partner!!!! Ellie is a precious Boxer mix, that is currently being fostered with one of our dog trainers that specializes in timid, shy and scared dogs. She is approximately two years old. She is absolutely adorable and her eyes will melt your heart but she is still pretty shy. Her foster mom thinks she would do better in a quiet home with adults or older children to work with her. Another confident dog could be helpful, but not necessary. She is dog and cat friendly, when introduced to the cat, she didn't even notice her, because Ellie was concentrating on the human. She will need an adopter, who will give her love and patience. Please consider this adorable girl as a part of your family. She deserves all the kindness and will give you a lifetime of affection. The shy dogs become the most loyal dogs, who adore their humans. (By the way, there is also discounted support/specialized training available in Fort Collins for owners of scared dogs) Her foster mom is located in Loveland, Colorado.

Story
Meet Jared, aka Jare-bear, He can't wait to have a family of his own - He is 6 months old and still a puppy. This handsome boy can be shy when he first meets new people, probably because he spent his first few months on the streets in Mexico. However, once he knows he is safe with you, his true personality shines, he has a sweet, goofy personality and isn't aggressive in any way. Jared loves his people and is going to be someones best friend, and velcro dog. He is an active pup who loves to romp, and play with toys. He loved to play with his foster sisters in his previous foster home. When he isn't playing, he will snuggle next to you and rest his head in your lap, he loves to hear that he is a good boy. His first foster mom did a great job helping to prepare him for his new life, so if you are looking for a sweet boy like this to be part of your family, please apply to meet him. He is fostered in Loveland, CO.

ADOPTION FEE: $575 Meet Zazu! This handsome man is from our Lion King Litter! Zazu and his siblings are looking for their forever homes! From his wonderful foster 2/27: "This loving, cuddle bug has such a mild manner. He's not much of a barker but loves to play fetch and eat food. When he isn't cuddled up to his brother or a human, he's napping." We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Not every dog attends every adoption event. Interested in this pup? The first step is to complete our online application by clicking the "Apply for Adoption" button. Please note that we are only able to finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better as it takes time to review and approve applications. We host adoption events almost every Saturday from 11:00am to 2:00pm at our rescue office (1721 W Harmony, unit 102, Fort Collins, Co 80526)! Check our Instagram and/or Facebook page for info on where we will be hosting adoptions this weekend! All Aboard Animal Rescue saves dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters in other states. These pups are brought to Colorado, where they are required to be spayed or neutered - breaking the cycle of unwanted litters of puppies who end up as strays! Please consider supporting us in this mission by adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.

Story
Senior alert! This spunky, older fellow is around 55 pounds, 8-10ish years old, and we believe a boxer/pit mix. His four-year-old human foster sibling named him Rex! Rex has had rough life as evidenced by the roadmap of scars on his skin. He was skinny and unhealthy when rescued with terrible allergies, parasites, some lumps that needed to be removed, and teeth that needed cleaning. Rex was picked up as a stray in Houston with many painful, ulcerated burn marks on his paws and underside, thought to be from trauma from being on concrete in the hot sun. He then almost lost his life when he landed on the euthanasia list due to space at a high kill shelter. Despite all of those things, Rex loves people and his forgiveness for our species is very gracious. He reminds us all that age is just a number and resilience can open doors for life to improve for the better. Rex has done well with the kids and all the other dogs in his foster home. He seems to be crate trained and housetrained. We are looking for a forever family to spoil Rex for his remaining time on earth. We have promised to find him a family that will give him regular meals, cuddles, stability, and vet care (though he definitely has a phobia/distrust of the doctor’s office😬). He also requests bed and furniture privileges as he’s becoming rather accustomed to those and appreciates snuggling under his blankets 😂. He is not shy about demanding what he wants and has quite the personality. Rex is still fairly spry and with decent mobility for his age, though he does benefit from some arthritis management. Rex would most appreciate a mature household where he can be a happy home-body living his best predictable life complete with daily treats and pets. Rex is being fostered in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/rex/. Story
Raisin is a 6-7 year old, Boxer mix. She found herself on death row at a high kill shelter due to lack of space. She entered the shelter with puppies and they were all adopted and/or went to rescues. She was facing a fate no mama dog should. Luckily, a foster stepped up and saved her life! Raisin as been recuperating from the years of stress on her body. She’s now been spayed, undergone treatment for heartworms, and is gaining the weight her body has needed for far too long. Raisin requests a forever home with excellent sun exposure, as she LOVES a good cat nap in the sun. Have cats and dogs already? Raisin doesn’t care! She’s friendly with all (large and small). Raisin is house trained and dog door trained. While she makes an excellent snuggle buddy, she’s spry and has pep in her step. She enjoys tug, playing with toys, and taking car rides. She’s really quite a turnkey dog for those seeking less work with optimal reward! Story
Turtle is a very large, very sweet boy, who loves nothing more than to play and be with you once he settles in! He may take a few days to settle in but is full of cuddles, play and love once he gets to know you!!! He does great with other dogs in his foster home, is non reactive around cats, and is doing great with crate training. Since he is just a youngster still, he will need a family with lots of patience and willingness to work with puppy training to help him gain some confidence and skills needed to become the best canine citizen he can be! Please know, Turtle has had a super tough go of things in his short life- prior to coming into rescue, he sustained a serious eye injury which went untreated until it was too late and then he had to have his eye removed. Then, while hospitalized for his eye, he contracted parvo, which as successfully treated as well!! He is doing fantastic now in every way!! He has recovered from his eye removal surgery enucleation) and parvo (and is well past any shedding period) and is a vibrant, robust, sassy, spunky boy!!! He is growing like a weed, loving life and while he is thriving n his foster home, he can’t wait to find a forever family of his very own soon!!! Due to his size and sheer puppyness, we recommend a home with older kids or no kids, as he may easily knock down small children by accident. Can you open your heart and home to a one eyed pup with a tough past and a big heart?? We are guessing he is a boxer/mastiff/bully type mix of some large sort, but who knows!!

Story
I have a 7 year old female dog I need to rehome. I have had her since she was 3 months old. I hate doing this but as she is getting older she has started to snap at my young children and I can’t risk one of them being hurt by her on accident. She is also snippy with other animals around her food and treats (not people, you can put your hands in her bowl while eating). So she would do best in a home where she is the only animal and no children so she can get all the attention. She is a GREAT dog but still has very high energy, so would love to have a yard. She was crate trained as a puppy, but now free roams at night and when we are not home and doesnt have any issues potty wise or destructive wise. She is fixed, and up to date on her vaccines. She free feeds and drinks with access to her food and water all day in gravity feeders without issue. She is THE biggest cuddle bug and thinks she is a 50 pound lap dog. She really is the best girl just needs a home with no pets or children

Story
Meet Van Gogh! A playful gent from Mississippi. He’s a 5 years old Pitbull, and sadly he ended up with Big Bones when his owner passed away unexpectedly, leaving him without a home. He loves all people, and is great with kids, but he is a true Daddy's Boy! (His previous owner was a man). He’s neutered, kennel trained, and potty trained. He loves hanging out in the sun, playing with other dogs, and really appreciates a belly rub and a nice warm blanket to sleep with. Van Gogh is good in the house, and can be a great couch potato! He'd be great as an only dog with someone who will take him on the occasional romp at the dog park. He'd also be good in a home with other dogs with a proper introduction. Apply if you are interested in meeting your next hiking and Netflix buddy!! He is being fostered in Denver.
