Story
Gypsys DNA test results are mostly Boxer, Husky, and German Shepherd. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited or wants something (we now know that comes from the Boxer in her). Gypsy is around 5 years of age and weighs 70 pounds. Gypsy came from a bad home. She was not being fed and was severely underweight. So the people surrendered Gypsy and her puppies to animal control to avoid animal cruelty charges. We don't know why Gypsy has not been adopted yet. She is a very good girl and is the most obedient dog I have ever seen. She knows how to sit and comes when called. She is housetrained and very well behaved in the house. She likes her crate and sleeps in it with the door open. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a vehicle. Gypsy loves her toys, especially squeaky ones, and she loves playing fetch. Gypsy is active - she loves to run and play with toys and other dogs. She loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot, and we bet she would love snow. She gets excited about squirrels, cats, and critters on the other side of the fence. Gypsy normally does well with all dogs but gets along best with male dogs. She would also prefer a home without annoying toy dogs or puppies that get in her face. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with children. Gypsy is smart and might benefit from more obedience training from someone firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is a sweet dog. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy must be in the house as a loved family member. She must be walked on a leash and have a yard with a 6' fence to run and play. Gypsy spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. She is now heartworm-free and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gypsy is located in Texas but can be transported after she is adopted. Her adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to a location closest to you. Stops include, but are not limited to, Ridgefield NJ, Rye NY, or Nanuet NY. Please email 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you would like to make this amazing girl part of your family! Story
Meet Willa, an enchanting three-year-old female boxer mix with a striking all-black coat. Weighing approximately 45 pounds, Willa possesses a perfect balance of elegance and strength. This beautiful girl is currently in search of her forever home and is hoping to find an experienced handler who can meet her unique needs. She understands the importance of following house rules and is eager to please her future family. With her glossy black coat and soulful eyes, Willa exudes a captivating charm that is hard to resist. She enjoys the company of her humans and thrives in a solo dog and adult-only home. This setting allows her to receive the undivided attention and care she deserves, fostering a deep bond with her dedicated handler. While Willa may require an experienced handler, her loyalty and affection are well worth the effort. She craves guidance and structure, and with the right person, she will blossom into a devoted and obedient companion. In return, she promises to shower her chosen family with endless love and unwavering devotion. If you believe you have the necessary experience and understanding to be Willa's perfect match, we encourage you to reach out today. Provide this sweet girl with the stable and nurturing home she needs, and you will be rewarded with a loyal and lifelong companion. For consideration, please fill out an application using the following link: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ZYM was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024. He along with 3 other pitties that he was saved were extremely emaciated with pressure sores that have been treated for and are all doing amazing having gained weight and healed. Zym is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of 4 April 2023 and in April 2024 weighed of 36 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. ** UPDATE ** 16 August 2024 = Zym has gone to live with a temporary foster family to get him out of the kennels, get the exercise and diet he needs and also let him enjoy living in a home with two other GaDaH adopted dogs, one of them being his brother Smellerbee whilst waiting for his forever family to find him. As I get updates from his foster family I will update. Since Zym has been here (just over a month at the time of this update) he has done amazing, he has gained weight (too much and is now on a diet lol). He and Smellerbee are pretty bonded and snuggle up together in a big puppy pile, so we would love to adopt them together but will adopt individually if a family only wants one. He is playful, affectionate, goofy, happy, full of love, kisses and cuddles. From what he must have endured to now it is a complete change, he is so much fun. He deserves an extra special family who can give him the life he deserves and help him forget the abuse, neglect and starvation he has suffered. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue    YouTube channel    and    photo albums on our Facebook page    to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Zym is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $50. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - We do not have cats in the kennels and are not able to say how our dogs are with cats.
