Story

Hope was found on the side of a busy road. She was only 4-5 weeks old. She was d iagnosed with blunt force trauma to the spine. She went for a second opinion to the only board certified cat vet in Texas . He recommended hydrotherapy and Reiki. We believed she would walk and hoped that she would gain control of her bladder. For 5 months , t wice a day for 30 minutes sessions , she went into the water and worked hard . Her back leg muscles grew stronger. B oth of her legs move d . Her tail move d from side to side, but w ould n’ t lift it up. Rei ki kept her spirits high . Sadly, after another vet consultation , it was determined she has plateaued and w on’t regain her ability to walk or control her bladder or bowels. She is a very loving and affectionate cat. Her special needs don’t hold her back. She scoots around at the speed of light. She can climb a cat tree and loves to go on walks outside in her stroller. She loves to chase the laser light and balls. She also likes to watch the world pass by while looking out the window . She is cat and dog friendly. She never meets a stranger. When you pick her up, she immediately leans back asking for loving pets under her chin and neck. She is looking for that special person to love with all her heart and take care of her special needs furever . Hope is located in Houston, TX and we will consider transport for the right person. Anise was brought to the rescue with her 4 babies. Her babies were very sick and she knew she needed help with them. Anise brought her babies to a good samaritans front porch, tying to find help for her and her babies. Once they were brought to the rescue everyone received medical care and are now doing amazing. Anise has been a wonderful mother and sweet house guest in her foster home. She loves pets and scratches! She is such a sweet, kind, loving animal that deserves a family to call her own! Because she was living on the streets she is fiv+, but she can live a long normal life! Sweetie was found on the streets with her 3 sweet little babies who were very sick. A Good Samaritan brought the family into her home and reached out for help. The whole family was brought into the rescue and received medical attention and now everyone is thriving! Sweetie has finished her duties as mom and is now enjoying life indoors! She was a bit overwhelmed when she was first let loose in the house, but each day that goes by Sweeting settles in more and more. She has decided the best place in the house is sleeping in a smaller humans bed! She loves the regular meal times! She is a sweet gentle girl, thus her name! Don’t let the three legs fool you. Caramello will outrun, out-climb, and boss around all her foster friends. She absolutely loves spending times on her cat tree by the window, observing the world and watching out for visitors. She takes some time to warm up to new people but once she does, she’ll come when called and spend lots of time cuddling with you. You see, she came from the streets. She was a just a young kitten trying to survive on her own. She was brought into a clinic to be spayed where it was discovered her leg had subsided and injury that left the nerve severed and needed to be amputated. She also had a severe injury to her tail that required it to be amputated too. We will never know what happened to her but we know it will never happen again! She has settled into the good life indoors!!! She’s great with other cats and will introduce herself first to them too. Despite her resting grump face, she’s a happy cat that has faced the hard world and still learned to love people. She is 7 months old and fully vetted!! Halo was found giving birth in the rain on top of a wooden crate. A wonderful man rescued her and the 5 babies bringing them inside, giving them blankets, food and water. He then called animal control only to be horrified when they told him 'yes, bring them in, we can euthanize them.' He replied with 'Oh yes, let's do that. The babies are only 4 hours old.' Halo who was a dumped pregnant cat has only 4 babies left as one died shortly after birth. She has been an absolutely wonderful mother, but sadly mothers rarely get adopted as everyone wants a kitten. Halo is not a lap cat but if she had a home where there was a lot of love and patience, I am sure she would eventually let you touch her. Halo is not aggressive. She is just scared because people in her past haven't been exactly very nice to her. Please help us find a great home for Halo. She has truly been an Angel with all that she has had to endure so early in life!
