Story
Lolo has a joyful personality and absolutely loves to be with her humans. She is housetrained, non-destructive in the home and her most favorite thing is snuggles and cuddles with her humans. She does well with her baby foster sibling and would be happy to have children to play with in her future adopted home, assuming proper parental supervision. Lolo has had several frustrating medical challenges since joining our rescue, the first of which almost cost her life. She had pneumonia so severe that one of her lungs collapsed. Luckily her foster mom made sure that she received rapid care and the rescue is dedicated to her ongoing recovery. Lolo also needs a dental extraction, which we know will make her feel more comfortable and have less pain. We will continue updating Lolo's bio as she continues with her medical treatments and as we get more information about what her ideal home will look like. Story
Arlo is a young puppy (5ish months old) who was "fearful and scared" at the shelter. We were told that he was 10 months old and small for his age, but when we brought him into the rescue, we found that he still had his puppy teeth - meaning he still has a lot of growing to do and is just a baby. Arlo is learning how to navigate the world and is fully house-trained and crate trained. He is working on his leash skills and people skills and socialization as he missed out on some important development opportunities when he was a young puppy at the shelter. Arlo loves to run, play and wrestle with his two female pittie mix foster sisters. Arlo will soon be attending training with his foster family and is not yet available for adoption but we plan on updating this bio soon! Story
Polo is a 7 yo pure breed Cane Corso. Is he super affectionate and believes he is a lap dog. He is a super good guard dog and loves females. He is house broken and knows commands like sit, down, paw, upstairs, downstairs, water, drink, eat, backup, gentle, and can halfway rollover if you ask him. Once you pet him you pretty much must continue to pet him. Did I mention he is very affectionate. It really breaks my heart to have to surrender him. His original owner abandoned him, so he has some separation anxiety. He is really good with females and takes his time to warm up to males (trauma). He is a goofy and again, did I mention that he is super affectionate. Loves cuddles and to be touch. He doesn’t know what personal space it. But who doesn’t want this lovable guy on the.

Story
Hi, I'm UConn. I'm a 5-year-old Mastiff mix whos often described as a big teddy bear! First off, let's address the elephant in the room. Me! I am one big puppy! But that just means there's more of me to love. And boy am I a lover! I'm up for all the cuddles you can give. I'm so gentle and laid back that my size is only a positive. I've even lived in a studio before, and even though I'd need more space in my forever home, I did amazing! Actually, I'm pretty amazing wherever I'm living! Here are some things that I am great at: 1. Helping to re-pot plants after I knock them over with my tail 2. Helping to get the router set back up after knocking it out of the wall with my tail3. Helping to refill the water bowls after I knock them over with my---Hang on, my tail's lawyer says I need to stop the self-incrimination...Let's move on! I love life in general, but some of my favorite things include puzzle toys! I stay super focused and don't get frustrated when I'm working to get my meals out of these. I think it's fun to use my brain! I also love walks and sniffing around. I am strong, but if you set the tone, I am really good on leash. I like walking right next to my person most of the time, and I even remember to sit and look both ways before crossing the street. I am interested in other dogs and little animals (squirrels, etc.), but if you remind me not to pull, I'm a great listener. Speaking of listening, I love music! When my foster plays the piano, I lay down underneath and wag my tail the entire time. I also love when we have dance parties! Anytime I get to spend time with my humans is a good time for me. I'm friendly with absolutely everyone, so I'm no guard dog, but you can count on me to be the household greeter. Babies, kids, teenagers, grown-ups, everybody is my friend! I'm very gentle when I say hello, and I never run up to people or jump on them. I'm pretty relaxed all of the time, actually, though if you get me excited about a toy, I'll definitely play. While my foster is working, I play with my quietest toys in my bed, but I really like squeakers, fetch and tug too! Now, for a quick brag sesh: My foster says I am 'literal perfection' in my crate. I think that just means that I go in when she asks, am really quiet all through the night, don't have any accidents, and don't get upset when she leaves. Why would I? I know she's coming back, and I'm obsessed with the bully sticks that I get when it's crate time. My foster also says I'm a super smart, food-motivated puppy. That means I pick up on things really quickly, and am easy to train. I already know basic commands like "sit" and "paw", and of course I am 100% potty trained. So, all that to say, if you're looking for 110 pounds of love, joy, and kisses, then you need to meet UConn! I can't wait to join my new family, so reach out today to learn about adopting me! Please visit our website www.ruraldogrescue.com to learn more about this amazing dog and to see other dogs available for adoption!

Story
Roxy was bought from an amateur home breeder. Roxy is 6 months old. Lots of energy. She needs someone who can give her a lot of attention Plays tug of war chases balls, plays with other dogs well and plays with people well. I would say she is semi house broken. I have a dog door and when the back door is left open she'll will go in and out on her own. I think if she gets on a schedule with regard to taking her out to make sure she pees and poops she will get it right. Left unsupervised for long periods she is mischievous. I kennel Roxy at night or when I am out of the house. Currently I am housing Roxy for a friend who cannot keep her because of a change in living situation.

Story
ZEUS Male, neutered 9-1/2 Cane Corso 105 lbs. Microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines and takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Zeus had a family that had to move without him and were devastated to leave him behind at the shelter.  LOVEPAWS couldn't bear the thought of Zeus spending Thanksgiving alone in a noisy and overcrowded shelter so we sprung him the day before the holiday.   Zeus is looking for a quiet home without a lot of hustle and bustle where he can live out his golden years on a soft bed in front of a warm fire (aren't we all?) He's being fostered with a 15 year old female dog that is not very snuggly with people or other animals, but she adores her foster brother Zeus and they have to be touching each other while sleeping in the same bed! Zeus also lives with a cat in his foster home that wants to be friends with him, but he's not sure what to think of her, so he just co-exists and naps on the bed with her too. Foster mommy describes him as a big ol' love muffin! He LOVES all women and older, considerate kids! He needs a little time and slow intros to warm up to men but once he warms up, he's a total love muffin! He's a strong boy and is working on leash manners. He loves carrots as a healthy snack! He really enjoys playing with toys and chewing on Nylabones. He's an adaptable boy and can be a chill couch potato or go for a walk! If he sees you touch his leash, you better be ready to walk him!  Zeus loves scritches and pets so much that he'll stand beside his foster mom while she's on the computer working and nearly falls asleep standing up while she pets him and runs the back scratcher up and down his back. He's a silly boy! Zeus on his daily routine: I wake up, go potty in the yard with my foster sis Koda, chow down on breakfast then nap the day away with Koda until foster mommy comes home. When she gets home, I see her touch the leash and give her just enough time to get her shoes on before I start jumping at the leash for WALK TIME!!!! After working up an appetite on my walk, I eat dinner, go out for a post-dinner potty break, and come inside to snuggle with foster mommy (I make sure to get lots of pets!). I retreat to bed around 7pm after a long day and hope mommy and sis join me soon! We think senior dogs rock and have a lot of love and joy to bring to their adoptive families.   Interested in adopting? Of course you are! Submit an application here!  August 18, 2024, 12:52 pm

Story
Hercules is looking for someone to be their hero.  This 3 year old 170 pound Bull Mastiff is massive and definitely the size of a small pony.  He is a lazy, affectionate big OOF that needs someone bigger and stronger than him to make him their sidekick in life.  Being the only dog would be so good for him since the former owner never socialized him with other dogs.  He assumed that Hercules might be a little aggressive or assertive and so we just don’t know for sure.   Maybe a female dog would be fine but we doubt a male would be a good idea in the future home.  He is not great on a leash.  Noone took that time to really train him but it still is doable with the right person knowing how to do it.  He is housebroken, crate trained and he is not destructive in the house.  This boy will make you laugh, make you want to protect him (even though he is big) and he will love you unconditionally and who in the world would ever break in to your home!?  Goodness they would be insane.   This boy loves people though….but if you don’t know him then he could be a nice guardian.   A fenced yard would be the perfect environment for everyone.  If you qualify, then please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 19, 2024, 2:03 pm
