Story
Meet our sweet introverted boy Soup!We have recently learned that Soup loves other cats ! We are looking for a home with another friendly cat for Soup to be best friends with. Soupy boy came to us when his guardian could no longer give him the care he needed. This has been a big change and Soup is understandably confused and nervous. Despite his fear, Soup has been very tolerant and patient with staff and volunteers, and will let us give him some loving chin scratches. This big guy has a gorgeous long coat that was unfortunately not cared for, and he needed a shave and some trimming to get rid of painful mats. His future home should be prepared to brush him regularly and to keep his coat in tip-top shape! Soup is an introverted cat and a little fearful, he would like a quiet and adult-only home. Every day Soup is slowly settling in and becoming more trusting, but he will need a patient home that will allow him to blossom in his own time. He has previously lived with another cat but we feel he would be afraid to live with a dog. If you are interested in sweet Soup, please fill out an application online or visit our shelter Tuesdays-Sundays, 12pm-3pm. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brown Tabby Weight: 5.88 Age: 3yrs 9mths 1wks

Story
Meet delicate mini Midnight! This little mama had a litter at only 1 year old! She is as black and beautiful as the night sky, hence her mystical name. She is delicate and sensitive, so she'll need someone who has experience handling anxious cats. It takes time to build her trust in you, so patience and positive-reinforcement are key.Poor Midnight came to our care from a tragic cat hoarding situation. She was pregnant, so we immediately placed her with one of our fosters. We've managed to get all of her babies into loving new homes. Now it is only her who still needs to find a devoted family! She will thrive in an adult-only, indoor-only home. She has shown us that she doesn't shy away from other cats This little lady is very confident in her quirkiness. She likes to chirp and meow at you, but also rub her little butt on the window, smear her face in her food sometimes and hide in funny places! No doubt she'll make you laugh everyday with her endearing silliness. Midnight loves to purr and cuddle! She experiences hyper-arousal because she loves snuggles SO much, so she will need a loving owner who is an experienced cat body language interpreter. She was previously deprived of all the affection she ever wanted and is just now learning how to interact with humans. A human that is well-versed in CAT language is a must!If Midnight sounds like the feline fur you, please fill out an application online OR come by to meet her at our shelter Tuesdays to Sundays (Mondays we are closed), from 12pm to 3pm! **Midnight is awaiting a spay surgery and is looking for a local adopter that will be able to take her to and from an appointment on the north shore in the coming weeks.** Primary Color: Black Weight: 3.73 Age: 1yrs 2mths 1wks

Story
Oh Mickey, you're so fine! At the ripe age of 12 years, Mickey is a sweet senior golden girl. She is very chatty/vocal and likes to carry on conversations, especially to give her opinion! She loves pets and is very affectionate but would be best suited to a home without children or other cats as she likes the attention all to herself!Mickey has been through a whirlwind of changes and is looking for her retirement home where she can settle down and put her trust in her final, forever guardian. Mickey originally came in as a stray to the BCSPCA in 2014 and was adopted out. She then found herself back again at the shelter 9 years later when her guardian sadly passed away. She was adopted quickly again, due to her affectionate nature, but has now been returned and is back at the shelter for the THIRD time, through no fault of her own. This sweet girl can't catch a break and desperately wants to settle down somewhere for good! Not uncommon for a cat of her age, Mickey has been diagnosed with very early stage kidney disease. This is easily managed with a special diet and supplements. If you are looking for a sassy senior brimming with personality, come meet Mickey today at the shelter from 12pm-3pm Tuesday-Sunday. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Black Weight: 5.25 Age: 12yrs 7mths 3wks

Story
Meet Gator! This cute quirky boy is looking for his fur-ever home! Gator's goofy little pout and the unique glint in his beautiful blue eyes will melt your heart. He is a big kitty who can be surprisingly shy for his big stature! He came to us as a stray and likely spent most of his life surviving the outdoors, but now this lazy alligator is ready to spend his days relaxing in a loving and cozy home. Gator is a shy boy, but it feels incredible when you win over his trust - which doesn't take much if you have the right treats! Gator would prefer to go to a home with another cat! We've recently discovered he's curious about other felines, especially the ladies! He just needs that boost of feline confidence to come out of his shell. We've all fallen in love with this big beauty, and we can't wait to see him live his best life. Gator's preferred home would be one that is quiet and not very busy, with a single person or couple. Gator would struggle to be around children, as loud sounds, fast movements, and sudden changes to his environment are very scary to him. If sweet Gator sounds like the purr-fect match for you, please fill out an application online or come visit him during our adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday Primary Color: Brown Tabby Weight: 8.16 Age: 2yrs 1mths 1wks

Story
Meet Willow, a gentle one-year-old tortoiseshell with a heart as beautiful as her coat. Tragically raised in a cat-hoarding house alongside many other cats, Willow hasn't had proper socialization and is quite reserved and fearful. However, she's making steady progress each day.Initially, Willow may retreat to her hiding spot, but once she feels safe, she loves indulging in squeeze-up treats from your hand and enjoys brief, gentle petting. The best way to connect with Willow is to catch her on her favourite perch, where she feels most secure.Willow hasn't yet discovered the joys of playtime, but with patience and encouragement, she has the potential to learn and grow. She thrives in a quiet environment and needs someone dedicated to continuing her behaviour modification journey, helping her build trust and confidence. We believe she'll do well in a home with another cat, a feline friend to help her come out of her shell. She'll have to be SLOWLY introduced, as per usual with cat introductions. If you're ready to offer Willow the nurturing and supportive home she deserves, she will reward you with love and companionship like no other. Adopt Willow and watch her blossom into the loving companion she's meant to be. Primary Color: Tortoiseshell Weight: 2.49 Age: 1yrs 4mths 1wks

Story
Meet Inky, Isla and Ike!These little babes have just arrived to us through our Drives for Lives transfer program! They were surrendered into SPCA care up North as they were an unplanned litter. These little ones just can't wait to find their forever homes - but don't forget, it is a lifelong commitment of around 20years! This litter can be a bit shy when you first introduce yourself, but after no time at all their room is filled with purrs and play time! Kittens are incredibly active, so adopters should anticipate needing lots of toys, scratch posts, time and TLC to offer these babies. These kittens would be a great addition to most homes, but will need slow introductions to homes with existing pets in them.**If you are interested, we recommend coming in directly to meet this litter as soon as you are able, kittens tend to be very popular and find homes quickly. Our adoption hours are from 12pm-3pm every day (EXCEPT Mondays - closed)! These kittens will be spayed and neutered on the North Shore in the upcoming weeks, and unfortunately we cannot move their surgeries to different vet hospitals. For this reason we will be prioritizing local adopters. Primary Color: Black Weight: 1.66 Age: 0yrs 3mths 1wks
