Pickles is a friendly, curious 12yo cat. I found him under a barn in Vermont with a bob-tail (not sure the story of his tail). I recently moved to Illinois and the environment is very stressful for him. I've tried all things to create a calm environment for the transition and visited the vet to make sure nothing else was going on. I'm looking to re-home him at a place where he'll get plenty of attention and a quiet, safe place to settle and get back a good quality of life. He's lived with a dog all his life and another cat most of his life. He takes a bit to warm up to another cat, but he will greet a calm dog. He's friendly all around, including at the vet. He's just very stressed here with all sorts of wildlife and smells and I don't want him to suffer longer than he has to. I'm unable to relocate at this time.

The homeowner did not want us to drown and brought us to BCHS. I have never been very sociable or outgoing as a kitten. I usually hide when people enter the room. I still am very shy and timid. I need a person who will be patient with me and give me as much time as I need to acclimate to a new environment. Sometimes I prefer interacting with younger people instead of adults.
