Story
Little Sickle has had a rough start, she was abandoned, brought to the shelter at a very young age. She had a micro eye that needed to be removed, but she had to weigh 4 pounds before she could have surgery! Finally she got surgery, it was rough, she was so scared and we did our best to comfort her. Her stitches came out and she is now ready to put all this nonsense behind her!Sickle is special needs; She will need a special person to help her transition to a new life. New situations terrify her, she will need a very quiet, pet free, indoor space to adjust and it may take months for that adjustment to happen. New things for Sickle are very traumatizing, but with the right person to help her through it, she will bloom into a wonderful, playful companion!

Barn Cat ProgramWorking cats, such as barn cats, are not typically suited to being indoor pets. These independent felines prefer to roam and hunt in outdoor environments working for you, hunting mice and other pests. To be eligible to adopt a working cat you must be able to provide a period of confinement for at least two weeks, and potentially longer, to help them acclimate to their new surroundings. During this time, they can adjust to the idea that your property is their new home base where they can work to keep pests at bay. You must provide them with safe shelter that protects them from harsh weather conditions and potential predators. They should be fed once daily and have constant access to fresh water to keep them healthy and happy. These diligent workers will earn their keep by naturally controlling pests on your property, making them valuable allies in maintaining a pest-free environment.

Sam is an old soul that wants a home where it is calm and quiet. He needs plenty of soft beds, wet food and gentle loving. He would love to lay around being brushed and look out the windows at the birds and other wildlife.Sam is a gentle giant and would like a home with no small children, he is older and needs the respect his age deserves. Sam loves being near his person and feeling the soft gentle touch of loving hands on his soft fur. If you are looking for a more laid back boy, come meet this senior boy!

Poor chunky Chelsea is bit of a grump because she is the pokey. She was wandering outside in these cold temps and it is just too dangerous out there for a sweet (grompy) chunky cat.Chelsea doesn`t seem to like anyone or anything, but she eventually purrs when petted. She may need to be an only cat? And lots of patience to get over her grompiness in a new home.

Whylie is a young guy with a fluffy half tail. He so far, uses it a lot in here, fluffed up, to show his unhappiness at being in the shelter. He really hopes someone will bust him outta here soon so he can go back to being and indoor/outdoor cat or, since he is now fixed, an indoor boy. He is fine with either, he just likes to be busy and not cooped up in a kennel.Whylie is a very needy boy, loves being in laps and needs that attention to keep him happy. He is possibly part Maine Coon/Bobtail, but he is as big as he will get.

Doc is a sweet boy and is not a mean boy, but.... he is very, very scared here.He likes pets and will start to relax for us a bit here. He will need a really patient home, a very quiet home and a very calm home.He has been around other cats before so may be able to be in a multi cat home with slow introductions.
