Personality, playfulness, snuggles, purrs, long naps, and is a beautiful chocolate tortoiseshell. She's looking for a home where she is the only feline. She's good with a cat-friendly dog.The vet thinks Lovey has a condition called hyperesthesia (extreme sensitivity on her lower back) , but it is currently being managed well with Gabapentin which she takes like a dream in her food. Our family has had Lovey for 5 months. She is highly treat- and food-motivated. This has helped to begin harness and leash training  at which she is progressing wonderfully. She has nicknames like " dumpling" and  " munchkin,"  We'd love to keep her, however, we know she will blossom in her forever home where she will be the Queen Kitty Bee.Contact clsouthern513@gmail.com today to learn more about beautiful Lovey! Story
Ocatavia is a sweet and independent little mama who loves pets and treats but starts out really shy and is frightened about change so it takes her some time to really settle in.  She needs a minute (or a bit more) to realize she can trust you, but once she does, she gives thanks with love and purrs.  She doesn't love to be picked up but she will tolerate it.  She would prefer her pets beside you or to decide when she is ready for a lap. Octavia is ready for a quiet home of her own where she can relax and be loved. Octavia is waiting to meet you in her foster home where she feels safe.  She adjusted easily to both her foster's cats and dogs.  She doesn't really interact with them but she is not aggressive to them at all and doesn't go out of her way to avoid them.  She routinely traverses the areas frequented by the other pets without an issue, even bypassing a baby gate to enter the area of the home where the dogs are.  Apply to adopt to schedule a meet and greet.  Octavia doesn't do well in the store locations as they are pretty stressful to her so it would be great for her potential adopter to meet her in her foster home.  All cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, FELV/FIV tested, microchipped, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative. All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Contact bcmcintire50@gmail.com for more information or to adopt the pet.Meet Tony, a handsome, social, talkative lap kitty.   If you are looking for a great companion, Tony's your guy. This marks a fresh beginning for Tony. Rescued from a feral cat colony, where volunteers suspected he was abandoned, Tony has proven himself to be far from feral. Despite the challenges of outdoor living, he has gracefully adapted to house life. Tony now enjoys the company of his humans and loves spending time on their laps. He is also quite playful and loves his catnip.  He shows no signs of wanting to return to outdoor living, though he does enjoy looking out the window, curious about the antics of squirrels and birds. Tony can be quite talkative and will carry on a conversation with you and will show off his trills and many different vocal capabilities.Tony is about 2 years old, uses a litter box, is neutered, and is up to date on all his shots. Tony has tested positive for FeLV.  This is a common disease for cats, and many with this disease can live normal lives.  We are looking for an adopter with a big heart who is somewhat cat-savvy and can provide Tony with a loving, stress-free, indoor home environment. We are happy to meet potential adopters and introduce you to Tony.  If interested please contact me at bcmcintire50@gmail.com.   All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Story
SPECIAL NEEDS: FeLV+. Looking for a sweet, playful, friendly cat? Herkimer is your guy! This little fellow loves to hang out with people -- greets you at the door, and sits in your lap or beside you, and purrs the moment you pet him. He is friendly with guests too. Likes to get at least one good play session in per day. We don’t really know his full back story as he showed up at an office one morning, rubbing up against everyone in his path. But he needed some medical attention and nourishment at that point, which he received. We cleaned him up, fixed his eyes (surgery for entropion), and he is picking up weight very nicely. Although he is FeLV+, he is otherwise healthy and full of energy and ready for his forever family. It should be a home with no other cats or cats that are FeLV+ as FeLV is contagious (but not to dogs or humans). He could live a long, healthy life, or he could pass at a younger age because he has a compromised immune system (should be indoors only). But he still deserves love and will return it multiplied.Like all our cats, he is neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative.    Meet Herkimer by completing an adoption application,  He is currently hanging out in a foster home getting a break from a cage.   All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption.
