Story
adoption donation : $699 weight 34 lbs Age 5 months as of 3/24           Sweet  Gretel and her three sisters, Eva, Schatzi and Freya, were left in the driveway at the Wags rescue in Mississippi, an all too common occurrence. At first we consider them shepherd mixes, but in a dog scanning app, they appear to be more Catahoula leopard dogs with plott hound—definitely mixes of several medium size breeds.     The puppies have been having a grand time playing together and snuggling in a puppy pile to nap. They have all been spayed and given their vaccines and are ready for loving homes. All of the girls are around 35 pounds, they were born in late October. They are friendly and loving and will make great family dogs.    Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use. Story
adoption donation : $599 weight  45 lbs  Age 9 months as of 3/15          Wyatt is a sweet and friendly boy who is great with other dogs and loves everyone he meets. He was found all alone in a pasture in a rural part of Mississippi in an area known for dumping dogs. When the Wags director spotted him and called out, Wyatt came running over tail wagging.      At the rescue, Wyatt had a grand time romping with all the dogs and snuggling up together for puppy power naps. Wyatt recently arrived at his foster home in the northeast and settled in quickly. He is a very mellow and chill boy! He adores his foster parents, loves toys and is housebroken and walks well on a leash. He won’t run off if he is off leash, he just loves to be with his people. He is a favorite at the local dog park, Wyatt just gets along with everybody!     Wyatt is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccines. He will make a wonderful family dog.    Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Story
If you are looking for a cuddle buddy, Atlas is the guy for you. His unique looks and amazingly sweet and inquisitive personality are products of his rich breed mixture. Atlas (also known as "Mr. Steal Your Heart and Pillow") enjoys long walks, short car rides, exploring, cooling off in creeks, lounging around the house, playing tug, unstuffing plush toys, wrestling and playing the bitey face game with his doggy sibling, cuddling in bed, and anything else that allows him to spend time with his family. At almost 3 years old, he has outgrown most undesirable puppy behaviors, but is still an active boy who requires adequate exercise. He does well with children and other dogs. He has done well with cats! He likes to lead walks and can be overly eager to meet new dog friends, so some training in those areas is recommended. He also gets overwhelmed in busy settings and sometimes experiences stranger danger so it is advised to avoid crowded settings unless addressed by a trainer. He is overnight crate trained, but he becomes anxious when left in the crate for extended periods of time during the day so his ideal home would have a pet parent who is home for the greater part of the day. Atlas is learning how to pull carts. He is a very smart dog and seeks to please his owners. Atlas is house/potty trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. If you would like to meet this handsome guy and make him part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/

Story
Huey is an iced-blue-eyed boy searching for his forever home. He was scheduled to be euthanized and this is where CPR said that can't happen! He is one of the sweetest dogs that gets along with all his foster buddies. At the shelter he was around the kitties and was not bothered by them at all. His long tail just wags back and forth with happiness. He is believed to be some type of catahoula/husky breed maybe mixed with American Pit Bull breed. A DNA test would be interesting to know. We do know that whatever breed he is, it is a cool breed. Huey is learning to walk on a leash and is doing well. He has learned to use a doggy door. He is crate-trained and housetrained as long as you take him out on a regular schedule. Huey would love to be an addition to any family but would love to be able to run freely in a big backyard or get to go to the doggie park to stretch his legs and play. He is ready to travel now so go ahead and get your application in for this handsome beau:) Huey is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Maui, a sweet 11-month-old, 30lb. Catahoula Leopard/Husky mix who was found wandering as a stray in South Carolina before coming to our rescue in Connecticut. She’s now in a loving foster home awaiting her happily furever after! Maui loves nothing more than spending time with her humans. This girl knows no strangers and greets everyone she meets with playful leaps and kisses. This girl is a super snuggler and always wants to be as close as she can be to you. Maui has been enjoying her time as an office dog while her foster works, snoozing the day away after chewing her favorite bone. Maui absolutely loves the car and jumps right in, eager to go on all the adventures with you. She loves to play with her doggy friends but needs proper introductions as she becomes very vocal (hence the husky) when first meeting or seeing other pups. She's still a puppy so she can play a bit rough. Maui can be excitable around cats so she would need some training if she were to go to a cat-inclusive household. A house with a fenced yard is preferred. Maui is the true definition of a people dog. Could she be your new best friend? Her adoption fee is $450 and Maui is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed. If you are interested in this cutie, please complete the application at form.jotform.com/200883908893166. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.
