Story
Star was rescued in Louisiana. A lady that found her called me and said that she could not find a rescue group in Louisiana to take her. She had a gunshot wound through her jaw and ear. She was in pain. She brought her to me in Mississippi, and I got her the medical treatment that she needed. She had jaw surgery, and now her tongue permanently hangs out. We think this makes her uniquely special!! I know that her tongue hanging out may be a deterrent for a permanent home, but Star is such a sweet baby. She cannot help it that somebody shot her. She is a Catahoula hound, and her tail is docked. Star is a very sweet and loves to ride in the car. She loves dogs, and she loves children. She loves to roll over for a belly rub, and she knows the sit command. She is extremely smart. She loves to load up and ride in the car, and I believe that she was somebody’s baby at one time! Star has been in foster care and boarding for a while, and she wants a forever home! Also, if you live out of state, we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We alternate between the Northeast and the Midwest every other weekend. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee.

Story
Meet Carter!! Carter came in with his brother Crosby. One of the volunteers found them on a dirt road in Mississippi. They were full of worms and looking for food and water and nobody was looking to help them. The volunteer took them in to get them started on deworming medicine and gave them good meals/water. They now are happy and healthy pups!! Carter is the shyest of them both. He is still willing try to hide behind his humans when he is not sure of what certain things are. When Carter meets people he is shy too but warms up fairly quick. Carter is going to make a great family member as he is a submissive boy with a great personality. Overall, he loves playing with his toys and chewing on bones. Carter and Crosby will wrestle and play together. They love other dogs as well so having another dog in the home for Carter would be best. Due to Carter being a puppy still, he will need training classes to learn commands and how to be a good boy growing up. Keeping him socialized and entertained will help him as well. Grow up to love everything. Right now both Carter and Crosby are not being left more than 4 hours a day. This is due to their feeding schedule of eating three times a day still and also needing to go potty. If you want to show Carter the world is not so scary and it's full of love apply for him today. He is a little pork chop who just wants his forever family soon!!! If interested in Carter, please apply online: ADOPTION APPLICATION or email us at Info.FetchingHeartsRescue@gmail.com. Unless otherwise indicated, all dogs adopted through Fetching Hearts have received the following before being available for adoption: Thorough veterinary examination. All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP Bordatella (Kennel Cough) Heartworm Test Fecal Test, Deworming Microchip Flea and Tick Prevention Heartworm Prevention. VETTING NOTE: Fetching Hearts Rescue completely vets our dogs thoroughly to the best of our knowledge based on communication with our Southern Vets. If anything is brought to our attention, we treat the dog. After adopting the dog, you will be responsible for following up with all vetting going forward. We don't recommend a home with cats, but feel she'd do great with kids.  Nova will be a medium size dog when fully grown.  Abandoned as a young puppy, Nova is now ready and hoping for a loving, active family or companion!  Nova will happily be your bestie for long walks or hikes, fetch in the back yard, playtime with the kids, and then snuggle time at the end of a busy day.  As with all new pets, Nova will need time to adjust to her new environment and family.  As a puppy, Nova will need all the necessary puppy training to be the best adult dog she can be.  Looking to add a little spunk, and a little joy to life - Nova is your girl!   Applications can be submitted through https://lgarinc.org/adoption-application/.  Please note that you must be 25 years of age to adopt, and we reserve the right to refuse adoption to anyone.  All applications are subject to review and approval and a tax-deductible adoption donation is required to be paid prior to adoption day.   Please note that you must be 25 years of age to adopt and we reserve the right to refuse adoption to anyone.  Please be advised that we will not approve adoptions to persons who mislead or fail to provide accurate information on this application.  Incomplete applications will not be processed. Story
Sadie is an extremely loving 50lb catahoula/Pit mix female who was born on October 7, 2021. What a beauty she is and one with great manners.  She is fully potty trained and crate trained, spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Sadie comes from a neglect situation and is eager to make up for all the cuddles and play time she didn’t receive growing up in her former home. She has an extremely resilient personality and an eager to please temperament. She sincerely craves human interaction and will follow you around the house to be a part of everything you’re doing. When hugged, she likes to hug back by tucking her head around you and pressing in. She cooperates very well for bath time and settles well on car rides. Sadie behaves nicely in public spaces and happily accepts belly rubs from strangers. She has very limited experience around children but is happy to meet everyone she comes across. She is not recommended to homes with very young children simply for the concern of potential knocking them down. She has learned to sit when she wants to be pet, but may occasionally jump up if overly excited. Sadie must go to a home without other pets due to resource guarding around dogs (this does not apply to humans, she is submissive toward humans) and prey drive toward cats.  Her energy level is medium-high. She loves playing fetch to burn off energy, and would probably run for hours if given the opportunity, but she can also settle calmly on those days when it’s stormy or you’re too busy for intensive exercise. She likes to entertain herself with her toys, and is particularly fond of carrying the stuffed toys around to show them off. She needs someone who can deeply connect with her on an emotional level, and would be well suited to the role of emotional support animal (please note: due to resource guarding she is not suitable for the role of service dog, which is different from emotional support animal).    If you want to give this girl a great home to thrive within, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue  at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 30, 2024, 2:10 pm

Story
Meet Jade!! This sweet baby was found locally in the woods during the cold weather recently. We knew she needed help and we contacted animal control in Connecticut to help her. She has turned out to be a total gem!!! How could someone even think about dumping this poor girl. Fast forward 2 weeks.... Jade is doing fantastic in her foster home. She absolutely loves to play with her dog friends. So we would love to have her go to a home with other dogs. Jade loves running around the backyard with them as well so we would like to have a fenced yard for her. Jade is a very happy pup, once she warms up. With a few cookies and some baby talking to her she will warm up in no time. We would recommend older kids due to the fact due to the fact that she is a little shy. Jade is such a snuggle bug and very very loving. We could not have asked for our rescue to save a better dog than her. She started off in the rags and now she's going to the riches. Jade loves chewing on her bones and playing tug of war with her friends. Do not miss out on this jem!!! She is just the best girl ever and deserves the best family ever!!! We promise that if you adopt her and give her her forever home and lots of love, you will get that in return. 1000%!!! Apply for Jade today and give her the home she deserves. Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Update 1/6/25 STILL AVAILABLE! Don't miss out on this guy! At Paws in Prison he has learned so much already and his most favorite trick so far is to roll over and play dead! This boy is all puppy and we hope to find him a family who will be ready for him when he graduates from Paws in Prison in February.  12/10/24 Look at this boy!! Meet Harley. He just started at Paws in Prison yesterday. While there, he’ll work with inmates as well as a dog trainer to learn the basics, leash walking, etc. He’ll graduate in 8 weeks with his canine good citizen certificate and then he’ll be ready to go to his new home! Who is going to be the lucky family to adopt this handsome fella? Striped like a tiger, he is. That’s because Harley has a pretty brindle coat. The stripes are most prominent on his back. Harley is a handsome puppy with lots of little kid energy and a dose of showboat to go with it. He’s very smart and quick footed. Harley needs manners. His aren’t good, but he’s not to blame. Manners are hard to come by on the end of chain in a backyard. That’s where he’s spent his whole life, which is horrible. He appears to be a mountain cur mix, and a good looking one, at that. Maybe Catahoula mix? He’s 5 months old. Give the inmate trainers a few weeks with Harley and he’s going to be a great sidekick!!! Harley is good with other dogs. He is neutered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Harrisburg, PA 2am FridaysPort Jervis, NY 5am Fridays orSouthington, CT 8am Fridays East Hartford, CT 11am Fridays To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any details questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350.
