Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.               Precious is a fantastic companion and a loyal dog. She loves to snuggle (and snore!) and when it is a bit colder she loves to snooze with you under a blanket. She is very playful and doing zoomies outside is one of her favorite pastimes. When you come back home she will wag her tail so hard that it almost hits her in her face. She continues to be a calm dog indoors and does perfectly when she is alone.  She is not a barky dog but will alert you by barking once when the doorbell is rung. She learns commands easily; in a matter of days, she learned to sit and stay when we put her food on the ground. We can even walk out of her sight without her running towards her bowl. She loves people but can be a bit nervous/protective when new people or dogs approach her. She usually does warm up to people quickly though. Due to a lack of socialization, she still needs to work on her dog reactiveness. At this time she should be the only dog in the home. Precious requires a home with a fenced in backyard for her to romp and play in. She does not do well with other animals, so she must be the Queen of the house!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 20, 2024, 11:37 am

Story
We adopted Nugget and his sister when they were 6 weeks old (mother died during birth and puppies were surrendered). He is now 6 years old. As far as we know, both parents were Catahoula Leopard dogs. He is very energetic and needs lots of exercise. He is very protective and also very loving. He likes to cuddle. We are at a point where kids are very involved in sports and he probably does not get as much attention as he needs. We are also having difficulty as he is a reactive dog and we don't know how to handle him. He also has anxiety with storms, fireworks, etc that seems to be getting worse, not better, even with the help of medication. We are no longer the right fit and need to find someone who is better suited to take care of his needs. He is so special and would be a great dog for someone who knows how to train and handle all of his quirks.

Story
Eisley is 8 years old and extremely high energy. She has severe separation anxiety and is destructive if left alone. She needs an experienced dog owner, who can spend a lot of time with her. She knows basic commands and has never had an accident in the house. She gets along with other dogs, but wants to be the dominant dog in the home. In public and at the dog park she mostly ignores strange dogs. She's also extremely well behaved in public settings.

Story
Bindi is a uniquely beautiful 6 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog. She is housebroken, has a mellow energy level and is calm and well behaved in the home - she is already trustworthy in the house and does not need a crate or kennel. While she does well meeting new people outside of the home, she is protective over her home and belongings when guests come into her home. The rescue will provide new training for an adopter at no cost to help her start off on the right foot at learning to allow guests to come into the home successfully, but she will need an experienced, committed adopter ready to work with her. Bindi is part of our rehoming program and her current family is rehoming her because she does not get along well with the other dog in her home. Bindi is not reactive when meeting new dogs out in public or on walks but again struggles with sharing her space and belongings with them. She would do best as the only dog in the home. We are recommending a home without small children for Bindi, older kids would be okay.  Adoption fee $150, Bindi is spayed and current on vaccines. Located in Orlando, FL. ##2008383##

Story
Hi, I'm Ed. My previous owner dropped me off at Powers Drive Animal Hospital and they were kind enough to get me to Second Chance. I am a young, energetic, sweet boy. Did I say energetic? I love to go outside and play, or take walks. If you are looking for the adventurous type for hikes and outdoorsy fun, I'm your guy!  Also, no DNA tests have been done, so no one knows for sure what breed I am. I look like I might have Catahoula Leopard Dog in my mix and probably some bully. This means home ownership to adopt me is required! I have all had all of my shots, and am neutered. Also included in my adoption fee, is a registered microchip and a full set of medical records for you and my future vet! If you are interested in meeting me, please complete an adoption application. Upon pre-approval, someone will reach out to set up a time for a meet and greet. I'm looking forward to meeting you! If you're interested in adopting 2 dogs, my bestest friend, Georgie is also available for adoption at a reduced fee if you take us both! Only applicants who meet the following current requirements will be considered: - Homeownership, no renters - Fenced yard not required, but preferred - Applicant must be 25 years of age or older ##1581433##

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Willard is a 5-year-old Walker Hound mix that weighs 52 pounds. When Willard came to Lil Rascals almost one year ago, he was paralyzed in his back legs, had infected sores and wounds, an untreated UTI, and was emaciated, weighing less than 40 lbs. His owners at the time said he had sudden onset paralysis 5 months prior, took him to UF where surgery was performed on his spine. The surgery did not help him, so his owners rightfully began taking him to rehab. But they soon abandoned rehab for him because they no longer had the time and he sadly reverted to where he was. Lil Rascals got him back into rehab right away, where he had to start all over with therapy, this time weekly. He has not only gained strength, muscle mass and mobility, but he has also gotten joy back in his life. He now has a cart which has given him mobility again. He is a sweet boy that always wants to be near his person. He loves taking naps under the desk while his foster moms work. He lets you know when he has to go out with a distinct vocal bark. He is incontinent and has accidents so he wears a belly band. His favorite thing is going outside with his “wheels!”  He can go anywhere in his wheels and loves to go on walks and even runs sometimes. He attempts to bear weight on his back legs but he can not use them to walk. Willard enjoys car rides and meeting new people. He’s been around multiple cats and both small and medium-sized dogs and gets along great with them. He’s always ready to eat and takes daily probiotics. He enjoys busy bones like yak chews and bully sticks. He currently takes medication but the vet has been decreasing those. He loves hugs and attention but is also content to lie on his bed beside you and nap. Willard needs a family who will love and spoil him but be sympathetic to his special needs. He will need to continue to attend weekly rehab therapy so he doesn’t decline, but he is definitely making progress. He needs a home without a pool or stairs, and a home where someone can be home with him most of the time. If you think you can give this special boy a special home, please complete Willard's app and tell us more about your family. August 19, 2024, 5:24 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. About Training Camp:Pet Rescue By Judy has teamed up with an incredible program called the  Greyhound Advancement Center  which will allow some of our dogs to attend a ten-week prison training program. The program originally started to help retired racing greyhounds learn how to “dog”.Greyhound racing is now illegal in our state, but the program worked so well that they decided to open up to other rescues and accept different breeds. Each dog is teamed up with an inmate who is in their dog training program. This program allows inmates to gain an important skill that they can bring with them when they are released. The head trainers are the best of the best and we are sure that these dogs are going to come out of this program with all kinds of tricks up their little doggy sleeves. (Don’t worry, the dogs are treated very well and are the apple of their trainer’s eye ).Our dogs are so blessed to be able to learn important obedience training to help with their confidence and make them awesome additions to a family. We can not thank Greyhound Advancement Center enough for giving these dogs a leg up on getting into their forever home!******************************************************************** Wallace was surrendered to PRBJ because his family said he was not doing well with one of the kids. He is a sweet boy, but he is a little nervous, so we are recommending him in an adult only home or with older teens.  Like many Hounds, Wallace does not like loud noises and things like balloons, vacuum, sirens and fireworks. He does bark at cats outside, but does not try to chase them. This is pretty much the only time he barks...he is not really much of a barking hound. Wallace is potty trained and does well in a crate. He is friendly, but can be just a little nervous when meeting new people, so give him a minute to figure you out:   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 20, 2024, 11:37 am
