Story

Meet loving and gentle Chica (aka Chiclet)! She is a wonderful and easy going doggy full of love and in need of a family that will love her forever. Her estimated age is between 6 and 7 yrs old and is 7 pounds. Her background story is very sad. Her original owner, a gentleman, fell sick and took himself to the hospital where he passed away. He left his dogs in the house, and for 2 weeks the poor dogs were left alone without food and water until someone came to the house and discovered them. She was taken to the vet the day she was rescued, obviously she was very malnourished (in bones) due to the lack of water and food, but she started recovering very fast with high quality food, boiled chicken and rice, fish oil, vitamins and minerals. She also got her teeth cleaned (note: no extractions were needed but she was missing a few teeth already). She is now healthy, and her blood work is normal. Since Chica's rescue day (January 15th, 2025) she moved in with a loving foster mom. Chica fell in love with her immediately. She loves humans, goes on a pee pad, sleeps with her foster mom under the blankets, loves sunbathing and car rides. She lives indoors and goes out to a yard with supervision. She loves the companionship of humans, therefore she would be the perfect companion to someone that works from home or retired. She does not have separation anxiety; when she is left alone with her other K9 companions she just goes to her doggy bed to sleep while waiting for her foster mom. When her foster mom is at home she likes to follow her everywhere. She is not destructive and is very well behaved, gets along with cats and dogs too!
