Story
Timothy is a great little guy. Was a skinny stray when found. Shelter initially thought he was about 10 years old. However he really acts much younger. We are guessing around 8-10 years old. Good with female little dogs. And selective of little male dogs. Very protective of his people with other dogs. Specifically on walks etc. he does best with a fenced yard. Very reactive to other dogs when out in public. A dog savvy pet parent can get him past this. He thinks he is way bigger than he is. Typical chihuahua.

Story
LUNA is a 3 year old Chipin (a Chihuahua mixed with a Mini Pinscher), and I adopted her when she was only a year old, back in August of 2022. She is a highly energetic dog, loves to play with anyone, and has been trained to use puppy pads inside the house. She understands basic commands such as sit, lie down (or relax), high five, and most importantly..."no". She's also very needy. She constantly craves attention, and can be quite vocal about it. The only changes in her behavior over the years, has been more so of an aggressive territorial nature. Luna LOVES her bed, but can get very defensive if you "bother her" while she's relaxing in it. Her way of letting you know not to bother her, is by her low growl. If she feels your invading her space, she WILL growl louder, show her teeth, and eventually...snap/bite, so FAIR WARNING! Her front paw nails (both left and right) have grown a bit long and sharp, but within the last 6 months, she will snap at anyone who tries to trim them.

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Meet 6 lb, 6-7 yo Peanut, a sassy, independent, adventurous Chihuahua who likes to have it her way. Her attitude has improved after surgery to remove her painful eyes, but she will still need patience and time to trust in her new home because first meets with strangers are difficult for her and she will be reactive. She just needs someone to give her the chance to get to know them, and know that they won't hurt her. She will then give you her heart. She is house broken, crate trained and sleeps through the night in her bed. Peanut tested positive for heart worm in September, but has been on a protocol since then, so we’re hoping she will be given the all clear soon. She mostly ignores other dogs unless confronted with an in-your-face type dog, will voice her dislikes, but gives a warning bark to unfamiliar voices or noises. If you are on the look out for a watch dog, she’s your gal. Her hearing is excellent. Peanut is a good car rider. She navigates well inside the house to her beds, crate, the kitchen for treats, the water bowl, and will put herself to bed. Her most favorite place is outdoors exploring, sniffing, listening to sounds and protests if her peace is disturbed; a fenced yard would allow her to roam freely and is required for her. She will also tolerate being on a leash. Our girl is food aggressive as a result of being found dumped, starving and alone on a country road, severely underweight at just 3 lbs. Her foster mom puts her food down and walks away, giving her space. Peanut seems to prefer females, but just may warm up to a special guy who is well versed in Chi and their idiosyncrasies. While not a cuddler, she will approach for attention, a neck rub and, perhaps to join you on the couch under strict supervision because she will walk right off the edge if not stopped. Peanut may be best in a home as an only dog, would be okay with cats, but not with small children. We are adopting her to an all-adult home only. Peanut is heart worm positive at this time, and is on the slow kill method, which we can explain that process to any interested applicant. She can enjoy regular activities. Heart worm disease is contracted from an infected mosquito and can not be transmitted to another dog. If you think you have the perfect forever home for Peanut and her little quirks due to her sight limitations, please complete her app and tell us more about you. January 9, 2025, 8:50 pm

Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Meet Shelly - she is 7 months old and currently weighs around 15lbs. Shelly came to us with her momma Maggie (who found her forever home) and two siblings. She is very sweet, as well as calm and observant. Shelly is playful and friendly, but as much as she loves to play, she will never turn down a good snuggle.  She loves to chew on toys, wrestle with her siblings as well as explore the great outdoors in the yard.  Shelly doesn't seem to mind water and does well at bath time. She seems to be a big fan of children and meeting new people but like most puppies she tends to be mouthy and loves to chew, so she must always be supervised, especially with small children. She does well sleeping through the night in a puppy pen with her siblings. Potty training is a work in progress. She will use potty pads if not brought outside in time but definitely knows outside is meant for potty. Maggie, Shelly's mom, was a petite chihuahua mix. We don't know who her dad is but most likely some type of hound, cur or terrier. We anticipate she will be small/medium sized but can't be certain. Like all puppies she will need to have potty breaks every 2-3 hours and to continue her socialization with people and other dogs. Obedience training is highly recommended. A fenced yard is also important so Shelly can run around and burn off puppy energy. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe your family has the time, energy and love to devote to raising an active puppy, please send in an application and let us know more about your family. Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Meet Eve, she is  7 months old. Eve came to us with her momma Maggie (who found her forever home) and two siblings. She is the runt of the litter, currently weighing in around 12 pounds. But don't underestimate Eve based on her size because she has the heart of a lion. And don't tell Eve she's small because she thinks she's big stuff. She stands up for herself and can be mouthy when other dogs come up to the pen. She is brave, playful, friendly and spunky but she is also sweet and sensitive and enjoys a good cuddle. She loves to chew on toys, play with her siblings as well as playing and exploring in the yard. Eve is not a fan of water; bath time is far from/Orlando area and feel your family has the time, energy and love to devote to raising a puppy, please send in an application and let us know more about your family.
