You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- SOLOMON IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR AN INDIVIDUAL ASKING TO REHOME THEIR DOG. Solomon is a 7-year-old min pin and chihuahua mix I believe, and he loves to sing.  He loves to listen to music and some of his favorite artists are Michael Jackson, Chris Brown and Drake. Solomon is house broken and loves to sit and watch people out of the front door and windows.  He loves being outside and loves walks in the park and around the neighborhood.  Solomon does not tear things up like mail, toilet paper, socks, or trash.  He also loves to cuddle and be rubbed.  Solomon hates baths and water but I give him a bath anyway telling him that he has to be clean. He loves treats and his favorite treat is duck wrapped sweet potato from Wal Mart.  Solomon loves bones and his favorite toy is Lamb Chop or any bear that he can tussle with.   Solomon does growl sometimes when he sees other dogs and cats. He also runs after birds if he sees them and barks. Slow introductions are needed with dogs, cats, and children. Solomon does get protective of his person, so he would do best in a home with no children and perhaps just one adult that he can bond with. If you are interested in adopting Solomon, please go to www.reachoutrescue.org and fill out an application and we will forward it to his caretaker for review. You may also contact his caretaker directly at : eddinaw6@yahoo.com Phone:302-256-4318Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 20, 2024, 5:13 am

This sweet, sweet boy has been raised and cared for with great love and kindness, but suddenly he has been uprooted from his lifelong home and scheduled to be killed for no reason other than his family was broken and he had nowhere to go. Rescue stepped in at the last moment and we are so happy we did. He is perfectly housebroken, up to date on all his shots, loves other dogs, cats, has shown himself to be fine with children. In short, he is the whole package of a great dog! The part about loving other dogs? He was living with his best friends, Kyler, Mackie, and Nala when his world crashed. They all loved each other  and did perfectly together. If you were thinking of getting a pair of dogs (or more?), here they are, ready made and easy. Those dogs are listed also on our site and up for adoption. You can see how cute they are! Enjoy looking! We will be happy to processs you for more than one, or just one. Peanut deserves the very best, and that person just might be YOU! Peanut's current foster has requested he go to a home with at least one other dog. If you are interested in Peanut, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 20, 2024, 5:13 am

Story
A brown dog named Smoke, sent to a high-kill shelter intact, every bone in his little body sticking out, with horrible stomach issues. Red flags everywhere for this owner surrender, who is clearly used to people and indoor life but who also was neglected almost to the point of death. Whatever his history, we are happy to help little Smoke and hopeful that he has put his old life behind him. Within just a few days of regular meals and medications, Smoke started to gain weight. He still struggles with loose stools and will need ongoing care for his sensitive stomach, and patience as he overcomes his food insecurities (Smoke is not food aggressive but he is a bottomless pit who snatches and steals treats like a tiny toothy shark.) For this reason he should not be placed in a home with small children. Smoke is doing well with house training, getting better and better as his hormones work their way out and his stomach issues improve. He is pretty good on leash, great in the car, and not too noisy at all. Although he is very good with cats and is learning to love playing with dogs, Smoke does have moments where he seems to regress into survival mode and starts fights. It's nothing dangerous here as he's just a little guy, but he will need an experienced and understanding family to help him through these issues. As time passes, he makes more and more friends and finds joy in playing and wresting nicely. With his human friends, Smoke just needs a little time to warm up before being a kissy and snuggly sweetheart. He may not be perfect but he sure seems to be trying his best, and he deserves a family of his very own to help him learn to be the best boy! August 16, 2024, 11:42 pm

NAME: Paisley BREED: Chihuahua/Min Pin Mix BIRTHDAY: 2020 WEIGHT: 11lbs ADOPTION FEE: $150   Paisley and her "brother" Max are a sweet bonded pair who came to us from a southern shelter. We don't know their history but they are very comfortable in a home and VERY friendly with new people, so we think they were loved and cared for once. Both were already spayed/neutered and heartworm negative as well. Max is the older of the pair, calmer and quieter than Paisley but with plenty of energy! He's very agile and his favorite place to nap is in a cat bed on the second shelf off the ground. Max is also very good at hopping through the cat door and helping himself to snacks: since the cats are not the ones being snacked on, this isn't too stressful for anyone. Both Max and Paisley are great with cats and very good with other dogs, although Paisley does like to give little bird bites if the big dogs come too close. No one minds and no one gets hurt, so again we are not stressed out by her antics. Both pups have been a bit yappy when left home alone, and although they've improved immensely we do not recommend them for an apartment. Max has done very well with house training, and Paisley appears to be pad trained for some reason. They are both very clingy and needy, but gentle and sweet, so we believe they'd do well with respectful children. Max and Paisley are both fully vetted with no known health issues. Paisley is currently taking Trazadone for her anxiety, but in a more normal home environment she may not need this med ication going forward. These are lovely little dogs who are surely missing their own home and their own laps to snuggle on. Although they are no trouble in foster care, we'd like to find them a home right away so they can start to settle into the life they deserve! August 16, 2024, 11:42 pm
