Story
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Skeeter is a one-year-old femaleChihuahua who loves to play with all the resident dogs and toys. In fact, she will coax you to play even if you’re not all that interested. She is still working on potty training and what is appropriate for dogs to chew on (after all she is a puppy)! A resident dog or two is a must! She goes in her kennel when she sees us getting ready to go out. She does prefer to cuddle in foster Moms’ arms at night. Skeeter is very timid around new people and it will take time to warm up but the wait will be worth it. Sophia "Skeeter" is a young female Chihuahua mix that found herself in Animal Control. When her family didn't come to claim her, she entered rescue and the welcoming arms of her foster family. Skeeter is shy of strangers and new environments but once you earn her trust, she is a total love-bug. Skeeter will need a patient adult-only family who will allow her to progress at her own pace, and a securely fenced yard (flight risk) with a resident canine companion. The suggested adoption donation for Skeeter is a minimum of $400 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information

Story
Have you ever had an underbite melt your heart? If not... meet Scooby! This little fella's a Chihuahua mix, approximately 3 years old, and 15 lbs of pure love. He's as sweet as can be and would love to find a calm, laid-back home where he can finally settle in for the long haul! Over the past couple of weeks, Scooby has been getting used to his new environment and routine. He's just about potty trained (only a couple of accidents here and there) and the resident dogs have helped him learn the potty ropes in his new place. Scooby is enjoying his daily walks at his foster home and has excellent leash manners; he also loves car rides so if you're a cruiser, well, you've got a match right here. Scooby gets anxious and startled by loud noises and fast movements so, for this reason, we think a kid-free home would be best. Right now, Scooby has a couple of senior canine roommates who are gettin' fussy in their old age, but this easy-going boy takes it in stride; he's used to sharing space with other small dogs so we think he might enjoy having another relaxed, friendly dog in the home for company. Scooby has been experiencing some separation anxiety so he's taking a very low dose of Trazadone in the mornings to help him relax while you're away. The Trazadone has been working well for him and, with time, we hope he can be weaned off so he can just be relaxed and know you'll be back home soon. We've also learned that Scooby is an excellent climber, so if you think a baby gate or a chain link fence is gonna keep this boy boxed in, well, you got another thing comin'! He's fine as long as someone from his human family is outside with him, but potential adopters will need to be vigilant about keeping an eye on Scooby while he's outdoors.... think about it as a chance for you to get some fresh air too! Scooby bonds strongly with his human(s) so a work-from-home situation or a family that has plenty of home time and love to share would be perfect for this little guy. We'll continue to share updates as Scooby offers up new info about himself and his furever needs... The suggested adoption fee for Scooby is $365.  Bullies-N-Beyond is a 501(c)3, non-profit corporation that is 100% volunteer operated. Adoption donation fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. All dogs adopted through BNBR will have been administered their age appropriate vaccines which may include DHPP, Rabies, Lepto and Bordetella. All dogs will also be adopted out as already altered if of age, for those not of age, a voucher will be provided. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. BNBR does not adopt on a first serve basis. All available dogs are adopted based on their needs to provide the best fit home. ##2096454##

Story
Niko is a male chihuahua. He is 1.5 yrs old, neutered, and up-to-date on shots. Potty trained, kennel trained, and does very well on the leash. He is great with other dogs, big or small. He’s been around my sister’s cats and likes playing with them. They are a bit older and aren’t very fond of him but he still tries! He absolutely loves children! He is very socialized and loves meeting new humans and animals. He’s a spunky little guy full of love and energy. We are looking to rehome him because our elderly family member, who has been their primary caregiver, is no longer able to provide the necessary care due to health and mobility issues. Fee is negotiable so please don’t let that be a deterrent.

Story
Bella (b. 7/2018), a Chihuahua/Dachshund Mix.  She LOVES her people and is a complete sweetheart.  Bella enjoys snuggling, playing in the backyard, and giving kisses.  She has done well with other dogs in her own home, but she is a bit more more particular with strangers and new dogs.  She has a good heart and tends to be protective of the people she loves.  Bella will need some training to help with her reactivity and how she responds to new people. She needs a well-fitted harness because if she can wiggle her way out of it and run, she will. Bella would prefer an adult-only home.  And bonus points if you work from home and can let her outside for frequent potty breaks, as her bladder can leak if you let it get too full - this may be due to her previous pregnancy or hysterectomy. Bella is really just looking for people that will be understanding of her and take her for lots of walks with snuggles afterward! The suggested adoption donation for Bella is $215. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2020 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $241,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. If needed, we will put you in touch with the owner if you have any questions. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page. ##1469617##

Story
Chip (b 7/2021) a Chihuahua. Chip is a laid-back guy that is looking for a place to exercise and have a consistent schedule.  Chip loves other dogs and would do great in a home with another fur sibling.  He is house trained but does mark but we are working on it. His nickname with his foster due to his "little dog syndrome" (he thinks he is the biggest, baddest boy on the block) is El Chapo. He takes a little bit to warm up to people but once he does, he will be on your lap, giving you kisses.  He is very curious and very goofy. The suggested adoption donation for Chip is $300, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. Story
Spearow is a young Chihuahua mix, born appx March 2022.  He is looking for a new home because his owner became sick and is unable to care for him.  He is fast and athletic.  He loves to go on walks and loves being outside!  Spearow is unsure of new people, but will snuggle with you on his terms.  He's a sweetheart and will put his head in your hand so you'll pet him and give him belly rubs.  Spearow is not a fan of big dogs, but he has participated in dog play groups at NHS and should be okay with smaller dogs in the home.  He does not get along with cats.  Spearow sleeps in a pet bed in his foster mom's bedroom and he likes to have a blanket over him.  Spearow will need a quiet home with people that have experience with Chihuahuas.  He is very protective of his food, space and belongings, so it would be better for him if there are no children in the home.  He prefers women to men.  Spearow is a little guy weighing in at appx 10 pounds, so he won't take up much space!  If you have a lap to share, Spearow just might be your guy!   The suggested adoption donation for Spearow is $300, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
