Story
Sweet Sebastian Let me tell you about Sebastian. It’s a sad tale as old as time. It starts with a young pup born into the world full of hopes and dreams, only to be used to bring more puppies into the world. He was locked in a kennel and used for a backyard breeder’s monetary gain over and over again, only to be given away without a care in the world. When you are locked in the kennel for your whole life and only taken out to do your owner's bidding, the world seems like a big and scary place. Sebastian didn’t get a chance to be a dog and when he was given away, he escaped twice from his new owners. After the second escape, an angel named Mary was able to safely trap him and deliver him to Michele's loving arms. Sebastian is one of those special dogs, one of those once in a lifetime dogs for the right person. Sebastian is an old Scottish collie. He is looking for his forever home, but it does require some stipulations; 1. He needs a 6-foot, fenced-in yard.2. He would love another dog to play with and learn how to "dog" from.3. He needs a quiet home with no children; he does not like loud noises and prefers a sedentary life.4. He does not love men; he is all about the ladies. You might ask how we could ever find a perfect home with those requirements? Well, we won’t give up until it happens. If you are a middle-aged woman, your kids have grown, and are looking for the perfect snuggle buddy, then Sebastian is for you. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Hello there, I'm Ricky. I've always been a bit shy, preferring quiet corners to boisterous crowds. But don't let my reserved nature fool you, I'm a quick learner and love to solve puzzles. I'm also pretty independent, comfortable with my own company, but I do love a good scratch behind the ears now and then. While I may not be the life of the party, I promise to be a loyal and steadfast companion. If you're looking for a dog who's low-key yet intelligent, who can keep himself entertained but also appreciates your company, then I'm your guy. Adopt me, let's make memories together.

Story
Whisper is a 35 pound, 6 year old Cattle Dog Mix with gorgeous markings and the very best smile !! This sweet soul had a rough start to her life, and so she can take a moment to warm up to new people and situations. She is flourishing in her foster home, and she is learning how to dog. It’s precious. She gives the most endearing kisses and hugs; and she has the most adorable slow tail wag when she’s happy. We adore her. Whisper is doing a fantastic job with her house training; she eats and sleeps in her crate but doesn’t like to be left in it alone, but she does great when left out. She does very well with other dogs. She would prefer a home without very small children. Whisper is spayed and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $250. To adopt Whisper apply at  www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application - This dog is located in Midland, MI ##2123118##

Story
Shiloh is a high energy, sweet, fun pup. He is 3.5 years old and 51lbs. He recently did a 3 week board and train and is currently crate trained. According to testing, he is an ACD/Pit Bull/German Shepherd/Lab mix. He would be a GREAT fit for someone who loves to train dogs-- he is a super quick learner and LOVES to have a task to do. He loves exercise and mental stimulation and would do best with someone who can give him the time and attention he needs. He also loves just chilling on a couch/bed. :) We are currently working on leash reactivity towards other dogs -- he gets a little scared and will bark, but he has made a ton of progress.
