Story
Meet Delia! READ UPDATE! LOVES OTHER DOGS, CATS & AND PEOPLE! This one-year-old, 40-pound collie/terrier mix is as adorable as they come! Delia is currently living it up in a foster home and we are so excited to share all we've learned about this spectacular pup! Not only is Delia as cute as a button, she enjoys both canine and feline friends! She currently lives with another dog and has a fun-loving, submissive playstyle. She is also capable of living with cats! If you're looking for a pal for your family fur baby, look no further than Delia! Right from the start, Delia is quick to connect with those around her. She is a tender-hearted girl who is just happy to be by your side. She knows sit and is capable of learning even more! Delia is making continued progress on her house-training and leash work and we know she'll have it down soon! She is crate-trained and is very eager to learn. As she is still a young lady, she will benefit from daily exercise and continued training in her new home. When it comes to toys and treats, miss Delia isn't particular! She loves all sorts of tasty morsels and a variety of types of toys. Her foster parents are able to take both away with no issue. She has good recall and responds well to correction. At the end of a fun-filled day, Delia always makes time for some snuggles with her foster family, and can often be found snoozing with her feet in the air-lol. We know the family that adopts her will have a loving, loyal family member for years to come! Based on our evaluation, we feel Delia would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages five and up. We feel she has the capacity to live in a home with other animals and are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you'd like to make this sweet pup part of your family, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our delightful Delia!

Story
Meet Maverick! Maverick is just a baby who is still learning what being a dog is all about and is catching on very quickly. Whether it’s cats or dogs, if it’s got fur and it moves, Maverick automatically wants to play with it. This can be frustrating for senior dogs, while younger dogs will think that it’s great. Maverick likes to play with toys but gets easily distracted by the brand new world that is waiting for him to explore. Because Maverick is still learning manners, he would fit best in a home with older children. While he does well with not jumping on his foster mom, it is possible that he could accidentally knock a smaller child down. Overall, Maverick is pretty gentle and likes to snuggle with his foster mom from time to time. His crate training is coming along nicely and he can currently go for about five hours before needing to be let out. If Maverick sounds like your dog, complete an application at https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Thank you for your interest in a Save a Stray pet. The first step is to complete an adoption application. https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.
