Story
His name is JD, he is about 65 lbs and a collie mix. We have had him since 2018, he is 7 years old.  He is affectionate and sweet, plays well with other dogs and great with cats. He loves to play outside in all weather, especially snow. Also very content to cuddle on the couch! We didn’t know he didn’t like children until we started having babies 2 years ago. We are not asking for an adoption fee, and he has leash/bowls/collar/toys. He is up to date on vaccines, and sees his vet regularly.

Story
Could Goldfarb be any cuter! He is estimated to be about 4 months old and weighs 17 pounds. Goldfarb is a fun-loving, outgoing puppy who is longing for a forever home to call his own. He is silly playful, but mostly just craving closeness and companionship. He will need owners who are able to show him structure and leadership, while showering him with love and affection. A family where someone is home a lot since he is still a baby, who are willing to train him and watch him grow would be perfect. Oh, but his biggest wish is to have love in his life, could it be from you? If you are interested in Goldfarb and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
These babies were brought to us after a lady’s neighbor left the pregnant mama. She kept the mom but could not keep her babies. This is a fun group of pups! They get along with strangers, kids and other dogs. They do well in a crate, usually just go to sleep. They would do well on hikes or other outside adventures. They are in a puppy teething mode so beware of fingers!! They are in need of all basic puppy training and just loads of love! A wonderful addition to any family. She is currently being fostered in TN but we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Meet Maverick! Maverick is just a baby who is still learning what being a dog is all about and is catching on very quickly. Whether it’s cats or dogs, if it’s got fur and it moves, Maverick automatically wants to play with it. This can be frustrating for senior dogs, while younger dogs will think that it’s great. Maverick likes to play with toys but gets easily distracted by the brand new world that is waiting for him to explore. Because Maverick is still learning manners, he would fit best in a home with older children. While he does well with not jumping on his foster mom, it is possible that he could accidentally knock a smaller child down. Overall, Maverick is pretty gentle and likes to snuggle with his foster mom from time to time. His crate training is coming along nicely and he can currently go for about five hours before needing to be let out. If Maverick sounds like your dog, complete an application at https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Thank you for your interest in a Save a Stray pet. The first step is to complete an adoption application. https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Beans is an absolute gem who is eager to please his person and will require multiple meetings before going home! Beans just returned from being THE BEST doggy at the training camp. The trainer says he's very smart and loves to learn! He LOVES playing outside in the pool or chasing around the sprinkler stream and also enjoys long hikes through the woods. He loves learning new tricks and having his brain worked, whether it's a 15-minute training session or a puzzle toy he has to figure out himself and trust me he will! He also loves to lay in his bed, playing and chewing on his toys. Beans is an active boy who would do best with a yard to run or a lake to swim in.
