Story
Hi, I’m Sammy. I’m a collie beagle mix born approximately 3/17/21. I have the legs of a collie, but the beagle side of my personality is what comes out the most when it comes to sniffing. When I came to NDLB I was heartworm-positive and had a skin issue. I just finished my heartworm treatments and as you can tell from my pictures my fur has grown back beautifully. I get complimented on my coloring a lot when out for walks. Once I decide you’re my human I will stick to you like glue. I do well with my foster parent's dogs but sometimes if they are playing, I will mistake it for aggression and growl. I quickly stop if told no. Other than that, I get along great with them. I would be a great only dog since I love my humans. I go to the office with my foster mom and do well with all the customers that come in and the pesky office cats I just ignore. I’m quiet as far as barking unless I see deer or other critters on my walk. I sleep well all night on a dog bed in my foster parent's bedroom. I prefer not to be in a crate.  I do have separation issues when my foster mom leaves me at home and I have escaped from the house twice but as soon as she pulled up, I was right there by the car. This might be because I go to the office with her every day but it is something that needs to be considered. My foster parents think I’m super smart and maybe training and longer daily walks or a fenced-in yard would help with the separation issues.  I’m a very happy girl and love my walks but also don’t mind a good snuggle on the couch or right by your feet. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $395.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 11:35 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Finn is a darling 12 week old puppy looking for his forever home. He arrived from KY and never skipped a beat, making himself at home immediately  in his foster home with four other dogs. we are unsure on his breeding, but we are guessing he will stay on the smaller side.  Here’s what his foster has to say about Finn: “Finn is as confident as any pup I've ever owned or fostered. Pretty high energy, but loves to play with toys and balls, so pretty easy to direct the energy to positive things. He WILL go for shoes, furniture, etc, if not supervised appropriately, so he IS a typically puppy.  He has shown zero fears to noises, slippery floors, or other dogs. Can eat and chew things around other dogs, but if other dogs approach, he does get worried, which is no surprise due to his history. Easily manageable with supervision, and will likely improve once he realizes these things are readily available now.  Oh, and if you didn't notice, he has the absolute CUTEST head tilt!” Interested in adopting? Please complete an adoption interest application at   https://redemptionroadrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4003 Adoption fee: $450 if eventual neuter is done by your vet $650 if done by our vet. redemptionroad.mn@gmail.com http://redemptionroadrescue.rescuegroups.org https://www.facebook.com/RedemptionRoadRescue  All animals fully vetted appropriate for age: Spayed or Neutered Rabies vaccine DHPP vaccine 4DX test (@12 months or older) Microchipped Dewormed Flea/tick prevention  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 18, 2024, 3:28 pm

Thyme was brought in by a good Samaritan wanting to see if we could help with him. Of course we said yes. He is a sweetie. As you can see from his pictures he is beautiful. He's a very happy puppy but still needs a forever family to love and take care of him. He has been fully vetted, up to date on all shots and will be neutered before going to his forever home. He loves to play and is good with kids and other dogs. Not sure about cats at this time. Won't you think about adopting this sweet young pup? He will make a good family member with all of his love and happiness that he has to share. Thyme is being fostered in TN but not to worry because we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. The transport fee is included in the adoption fee as well.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi there! I'm Rhys, a sweet and cuddly Great Pyr Mix. I'm a handsome boy, weighing in at 45 pounds and still a puppy, so I'm growing and learning every day! At home, I'm all about the cuddles. Whether it's on the couch, bed, your lap (even though I'm a bit big for that), or basking in a sunny spot, I'm happiest when I'm close to my humans. I'm also quite playful with other dogs – I love a good game of chase and splashing around in a kiddy pool. I might be a bit clumsy, but I've mastered the art of tucking and rolling when I tumble – hee hee! Belly rubs are my favorite, and I'm always ready to give you lots of kisses when you need them. I'm almost potty trained – just need to stick to a good schedule. I'm getting better with my crate, too. I might bark a bit at first, but I settle down quickly. I'm still working on my leash skills, but I go for daily walks and enjoy them. I know some basic commands like "sit" and "down." I'm great with other dogs of all sizes, and while I love having doggy friends, I could be happy as an only dog too, as long as I'm not left alone for long periods. In fact, I would thrive with other dogs in my forever home so hope you have some playmates for me. All in all, I'm a low-energy, affectionate pup looking for my forever home where I can continue to grow, learn, and share all my love. Could that be with you? *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    If you are looking for a dog with brains, beauty and brawn, I may be just the guy for you. At 6 months old, it is obvious I am going to be a big boy, but I like to make myself as little as possible. That way I can fit in your lap, or in a cushy little dog bed. My foster moms tell me that my eyes make them melt, and makes it awfully hard to say no to me. I add to the cuteness factor by making one ear look broken…works every time. As I wait for my forever family to find me, I get to stay with dogs of all ages and sizes, and I love to play with them all. Sometimes I need to take breaks because I get too excited, but I would love to have a brother or sister that can help me build confidence, and respect my space when I say I am done playing for now. I am a good boy when I go in my kennel, which I eat my meals in and take naps in. At night I sleep in a dog bed on the floor with my foster siblings. I have started sneaking into the bed and wrapping myself around my mom. I am looking for a family that likes me to play Velcro. I am doing really well with my potty training and get very restless when I need to go outside. If you want a big, handsome, goofball in your life, let’s meet! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi! I'm Cassian and just like my namesake I am as handsome as can be. My foster mama says I have the softest and most beautiful fur of all of my siblings. I love every single toy in my foster home and love to play with them by myself. My people said that I am so goofy with toys and don't have a favorite because I love them all. It is very important that I have a biiiggg toybox in my forever home - hee hee! My brothers and I can get a little rowdy together so I do also love to play and wrestle with other doggies. But when it is nap time - watch out couch because here I come! I also love snoozing with my people in the hammock in the yard.  My people said I am a very smart boy and learning all the important puppy skills like potty training, leash training and crate training. I don't need a fence in my forever home if you promise to keep working with me on leash training.  Ready for a cute puppy that is ready for adventures! I love car rides so I know we will go lots of places together! Can a Collie get a break here?? Yes, we think I am a collie mix and what a handsome boy I am!! I did not look this handsome when I arrived at the rescue, but a DEDICATED foster took me in and nursed me back to health and (even though it will be hard for her), I am READY for my FUREVER HOME!!! I came from a plea at a local animal control facility- I had been attacked by three other dogs at the facility who broke into my kennel and mauled me pretty bad :( My foster mom saw the post and agreed to help, and HELP she DID!!! Even though not a medical foster, she learned ALL the things she had to do to help my body and my soul heal. My back end/sides were torn OPEN on each side, numerous bite marks and punctures and infection when she got me. I spent quite a bit of time at the rescue vet for debridement and treatment of the very serious infections and then she took me home and changed my dressings daily and then weekly and then no more dressings!! I am a very very sweet and cuddly boy. House/crate trained, great with other dogs and everyone I meet (except kitties- not a fan). I am a medium sized boy and I am ready for you!!! My ideal family will love and appreciate my survivor personality, my cuddly and happy temperament and will keep me safe from harm for as long as they are blessed to have me :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Location: Lynd, MN Hi! I'm Dandy! I came into foster with my mom& 6 siblings! I'm a super beautiful Shepard mix with the best looking ears around! I am potty trained& even kennel trained! Just make sure you cover my kennel or I will bark! Considering my age I am super well behaved! I am excited getting out of my kennel of when they get home, but I quickly calm down! The youngest kiddo is 3 here& I do a super great job of not jumping up on him or the other kids! I love to run around the huge yard my foster has with their resident dogs& other foster dogs! They also have cats here& I was initially interested, but now I pay no attention to them! I'm learning basic commands& rocking at it! I LOVE the dog bed here. It was someone else's, but I happily stole it& nobody has made me move! I love everyone! I've never even growled at another dog here. My mom was the sweetest& I think I really take after her! ---------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (Distemper, Rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are a best guess.

These pups are in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota too!

She went through heartworm treatment with flying colors. She has been retested for heartworm and is now negative. She needs to remain on monthly heartworm prevention, year round, for the rest of her life. Nana came to MARS with some significant fear based reactivity, stranger danger and trust issues. With the dedication of her foster and trainer she has improved dramatically and is ready to find her FOREVER home.  Nana will need to continue using these newly mastered life skills in her new home with a calm and confident human leader. MARS will provide training with her adopter during the transition.  While Nana is able to live in a townhome she would do best without shared walls as she does get vocal when she hears the door bell, loud noises, sees dogs or sees/hears people outside. Nana would LOVE a home with a big fenced yard that she can safely run around and have the zoomies. She loves to chill outside during the warm months! Once you are one of her trusted people she is sweet and cuddly and just wants to be with you. She would prefer to be the only pet in her new home.   If you are interested in learning more about Nana please complete an application!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $350 plus taxAbout Lulu:  If you're looking for an energetic, loyal, affectionate companion, Lulu is the girl for you! Lulu came from a chaotic household, so it may take her some time to understand she can relax and just be a dog in your home,  but when she does she loves loves loves her people and loves to give constant affection. She can't contain her wiggles when she sees her people and she has been working on sitting patiently to wait for pets. Lulu is an intelligent breed mix, so she needs a strong, confident owner who can lead her and give her fun challenges to keep her brain busy. She is always up for learning a new trick or going on a nature walk with you.    Lulu's Training:  Lulu loves to learn! She already knows 'sit', 'down', 'off', 'come', and is working on 'shake'. While on walks, Lulu is learning to stay calm and learning that she doesn't have to let us know every time she sees a dog or person. She also has a loud bark when she first meets someone but she warms up with time and realizes they are just another person to pet her! Lulu would do best in a home with no small children as they make her nervous. Lulu has had no accidents in the house so far and even goes up to 9 hours in her kennel overnight without an accident. She is adjusting to spending time in her kennel alone and with a peanut butter kong or a bone, she keeps herself busy and then falls right asleep. When she does get nervous in her kennel, we give her calming chews to help her relax. Overall, she is making excellent progress with her training and is always eager to please, so she really enjoys taking direction. You don't even need treats sometimes because her favorite reward is just some good ol' pets!  If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com  to reactivate your application with new interest.       Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Boba is very food motivated and walks like a pro on a gentle lead.   He loves to play fetch with people and is learning to entertain himself with a ball or rubber toy.   Boba is a master cuddler and is never happier than when he is curled up next to his people on the couch, or even just hanging out by your feet.   He sleeps through the night without a bathroom break and is good for 4-5 hours during the day.     Boba loves to play with other dogs, he has awesome wiggly and bouncy dance moves to try to encourage other dogs to run around with him.     If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed.
