Meet our precious Butterscotch. She is a Riverside Shelter survivor who was in danger of euthanasia due to having a seizure disorder. Butterscotch is a 1 year old Papillion/Corgi Mix and weighs about 12 lbs. She’s a sweet girl with a beautiful smile and a beautiful spirit. She’s resilient and strong. She currently lives in a foster home with other dogs and where someone is home 24/7. We are currently trying a new treatment for her seizures and are still trying to find the best approach to control them. Butterscotch has both grand mal seizures (seldomly) and focal seizures more frequently. Her forever family will need to be committed to her medicine regimen and also having patience with navigating her challenges. She will do best in a home with experienced dog owners who are patient and will also have the dedication to navigate through her challenges with her. She loves chew toys, she's very treat motivated, and she’s dog and cat friendly. She’s a happy girl with a beautiful spirit. She will bring her new family lots of love and joy. She was rescued from a puppy mill. She's very timid and scared of any loud noises. Even a car passing by scares her. Currently, she is in a loving foster home, awaiting her forever home. Her name is now Daisy She does have both eyes, the shelter thought she was missing one. But her other eye has cataracts we would like to save her eye if it can be saved. She's had her first bath, been to the vet, and loves to spend time in the yard. She has an ear infection and is on antibiotics. She will be going back to the vet for a follow-up. She is older than we were told and is a bit chunky. She's a great dog. Say hello to Riggs! Riggs is a 10 year old purebred corgi. Riggs is an independent dog that prefers playing fetch than being pet or cuddled. He is more of a lone wolf because he prefers to be on his own than with other animals. While he is able to coexist with other dogs and cats he will keep his distance from them. We are broken hearted that we have to re-home Riggs. Unfortunately, he does not do well with young children. Riggs has been wonderful about keeping his distance and not getting into the space of our new baby, but unfortunately now that the baby is mobile, there is no safe way to ensure the baby will not enter Riggs' space and Riggs has been know to nip out of fear. He does have some issues with resource guarding which is common with his breed. Riggs would really do well in a quiet home with a male or a couple and anyone that is high energy and good at keeping structure for Riggs. He currently lives with 3 cats! COH Bemo is a 8 month old neutered male Corgi Mix who was found abandoned in the City of Hawthorne. He is eager to learn new tricks and thrives on attention and affection. Bemo is great with kids and other dogs, making him a good match for any family. His loving playful personality will bring a lot of joy into your home. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week.
