Sterno was transferred to our rescue with a broken leg. Although not 100% normal, the leg is stable and he has no problem using it. Sterno is a very active boy. Baboo is a lovely little boy who needs a new home due to his owner's allergies worsening since adopting him from a high kill shelter 8 years ago. Baboo has IVDD which has been treated but does require a knowledgeable and attentive owner willing to listen and learn how to prevent injury and support him as he ages. New adopters MUST be willing to do a slow transition to allow the pet time to warm up to his new humans and MUST be willing to maintain contact via text message or email with previous owners. Baboo has siblings he will be leaving and it's vital his new owners treat him like a valuable member of their family who respect and value his connections with his pet siblings and previous owners. An open adoption is new to some but it just means he can be treated as his own being with his own life and relationships and helps to aid the transition and decrease anxiety while moving to a new home. New owners must provide proof of pet insurance prior to adoption and sign adoption contract.

Welcome Daisey to CCPAL foster program. She is an 8-year-old Dachshund/Corgi is our best guess. She has a longer body and upright ears. She is a scenting breed for sure. She is active and social and not the couch potato dog. She weighs 25 pounds. She is good with a dog smaller and a dog larger. The larger dog is a pit Bull and she does good with that more dominant dog as well. She is around children and is a great dog for a family with kiddos. She has a 5 year old and a baby in her home. This family has found they have to move into a rental house. The rental house will only allow 2 dogs. They are sad but there is no other option. Pit Bulls are tougher to rehome so she is rehoming her favorite dog. She was crying telling this story. Daisey is potty trained, good on a leash, good in a car, good with other dogs, kids and strangers. She will need a fenced yard or walked on a leash. She can catch a scent and wonder off. She has a nice sturdy body and will make a great companion for an active family or active senior. She can be an only dog or go with another dog. This dog has a lot of good years in front of her and is by no means an old acting dog. She is in good health, vaccinated, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is a shedding dog but only moderately. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to help get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.
