FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Give a warm welcome to Kayla! She is a very sweet 1-year-old, 15 lb dachshund/rat terrier mix who came to us from overcrowded shelter in CA. Kayla has been described by kennel staff as “a total sugar cube”, because she is a extremely loving dog who enjoys being right next to her person and held. She gets along well with other dogs and would make a great additional dog to the home or she would be more than happy being an only dog soaking up all the loving attention. She walks well on a leash and would love a forever home that takes her on daily walks and adventures. Kayla loves to cuddle and is a total sweetheart! She is pretty calm and when she opens up and feels safe, she gets the most adorable zoomies! She can be very shy in new situations and will need a patient adopter that gives her time to open up and build confidence in new situations. She is going to make an amazing addition to any lucky household that adopts her! Kayla is UTD vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Animal Profile: Daphne is an approximately 4-year-old Beagle/Dachshund mix (best guess) who was picked up as a stray in California and gave birth to 4 beautiful puppies days later. They made their way to Seattle and were adopted in the beginning of 2024. Daphne was recently returned to the rescue due to separation anxiety. We have learned that she does best with at least one other canine companion. Daphne has lived in a home with other dogs, cats and kids. She is proficient at using a dog door and takes herself out to potty. Daphne is friendly with everyone she meets, and would do best in a home with a fellow canine companion and a securely fenced yard. Foster Update: Daphne has been a breeze since she's been back. She does jump up when she is excited, but is very smart and will respect a firm verbal correction. She is naturally exuberant and has a zest for life! She loves her walks, and we have never heard her bark. When she first goes in the crate she will whine but does eventually settle down. She sleeps soundly in a dog bed by our bed at night, and has been well behaved when given freedom while we work in the yard or run a short errand. Daphne is a bit of a clinger, but she will also go on little sniffari's around the yard or sunbathe alone when given space. She will be a wonderful companion for one lucky family. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate.
