Story

FosterPenny is a sweet and gentle lady. She is a ten year old, 15 pound dachshund mix. She came to Charming Pet Rescue after her human passed away. She arrived at the rescue with her two sisters, one brother, and two cats. She was quickly picked up by one of our foster families with her brother, Jack. Penny is still mourning the loss of her owner. She is gentle but is still not comfortable enough to come to her foster family when called. However, when the family sits on the couch to watch TV, she quickly jumps up and likes to sit next to you and her brother, Jack. She does allow you to pet her and rub her ears once she is comfortable next to you. She will also come to you if you offer her a treat and will eat it out of your hand. Penny will need time for you to gain her trust but she is making progress every day. Penny is house trained and has gone outside, but due to the stress of a new environment, she has had a few accidents in the home, usually on the pee pads. Penny sleeps well in her crate and gets along well with her brother and the two other dogs in the foster house. Penny has a cataract in her right eye but she seems to deal with it in stride and has no problem doing doggie things. Riley is a sweet girl! She is a 10 year old, 20 pound chihuahua mix. She came to Charming Pet Rescue after her human passed away. She arrived at the rescue with her two sisters, one brother and two cats.After losing her human, Riley is still getting used to her new environment. Riley is just now allowing for you to pet her. Riley will need time for you to gain her trust but she is making progress every day. Riley enjoys naps on the couch and rolling around outside in the grass. She is working on losing a few pounds. While her foster sisters and brother run around, she enjoys walking a few laps in the backyard following her foster mom.Riley is house trained and sleeps in her crate. She gets along well with the three dogs in the foster home. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Jasper! He is a 10-month-old, 18 lb Dachshund/Corgi mix who came to us as a stray. This sweet, lovable boy is so excited to find his forever home! He is currently living in a foster home. His foster describes him as sweet as pie, energetic, smart and quickly learning commands like sit, stay, go to your bed, lay down, touch, come, and “gentle” when taking treats. Jasper plays with his 65lbs foster brother very confidently, and while he can be a bit of a resource guarder with toys, he is quite easy to correct. He makes a lot of eye contact when addressed and is very eager to please. He loves fluffy, large dog beds, toys, fetch, and tug of war, just as much as he loves snuggling his foster brother. He happily naps in his fosters lap while she works at her desk between bouts of playing/chewing on toys (he really is a chewer). He is making wonderful progress with potty training and crate training. While he is not fully potty trained, he is learning quickly. He is enthusiastically working on his house manners and is such a happy dog. He walks well on a leash but can be shy when meeting new people on walks and will react by barking - on high alert when they approach on walks. He would do best in a quiet neighborhood outside of the city. Jasper is ready to put down roots in a loving home where he can continue to grow and thrive. If you’re looking for a sweet and playful dog to add to your family, Jasper might just be the perfect fit! Jasper is up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.
