Story
Animal Profile: Mulan is some type of adorable Hawaiian mixed breed who is approximately 7 months old and 15 lbs so she'll likely be around 20 lbs when full grown. She and her sibling (or niece or aunt -- we're not really sure) Tiana -- a dynamic duo also lovingly referred to as the short and long princesses -- will be joined us from Hawaii on Thursday August 8th. These girls were picked up from a property of 15 dogs, most young and apparently several different litters. Adults have been altered so no more oopsies litters.  Foster Update:    Mulan is a bit timid when meeting new people but she is warming up to her fosters quickly! She is really sweet and gives kisses, loves to be with/near people but she does not always need to have constant attention.  Now that she is settled in with her fosters, she LOVES to snuggle. She likes to be held like a baby and get cozy!  Mulan Ioves to play. Some of her favorite toys are the crinkly soft toys (with an empty plastic bottle inside it), soft toys with "limbs" to chomp on.  She hasn't started fetch yet but we think she might figure it out soon!  Mulan is working on crate training. She will happily go in for meal times and when going to bed, or after playtime for a cozy nap. Her fosters are working on helping her be settled when left alone.Mulan has met cats and is doing well so far with them with supervision. She is still a bit awkward with her leash manners and she’s got some off the basics down with commands but this will take a bit of ongoing training support and leadership. Mulan is a playful energetic puppy with tons of potential to learn and be a great best friend and adventure buddy!    Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Hawaii Animal Control arrived to Seattle area foster care on Thursday 8/8/24.   August 19, 2024, 12:18 am

** Not reviewing additional applications at this time ** Animal Profile: Tiana is some type of adorable Hawaiian mixed breed who is approximately 7 months old and 17 lbs so she'll likely be around 20 lbs when full grown. She and her sibling (or niece or aunt -- we're not really sure) Mulan -- a dynamic duo also lovingly referred to as the short and long princesses -- joined us from Hawaii on Thursday August 8th. These girls were picked up from a property of 15 dogs, most young and apparently several different litters.  Foster Update:    Tiana’s foster dad describes her as a complete sweetheart who LOVES to snuggle up. She loves to nestle in between legs and just hang out. She’s gone on a few walks with her foster sibling, the resident kitty and done really great (with supervision of course).  Tiana has playful puppy energy and likes to chase toys and play with squeaky ones too. She is young and has a fair amount to learn but she’s a real gem and will be a great family pet or ride or die bestie for someone up for adventures!  We will continue to post more about this little cutie pie as we get to know her.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Story
HE WAS FOUND WITH TWO PUPPIES UNDER A HIGHWAY BRIDGE. UNFORTUNATELY, ONE OF THEM TESTED POSITIVE FOR DISTEMPER AND, BECAUSE THE DISEASE WAS ALREADY VERY ADVANCED, HE DIED A FEW DAYS AFTER STARTING HIS TREATMENT. ELMER AND THE OTHER PUPPY, TITAN, WERE PLACED IN QUARANTINE AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE. HOWEVER, ONE DAY AFTER THE END OF QUARANTINE, TITAN SHOWED DISTEMPOR SYMPTOMS AND, LIKE THE FIRST PUPPY, DIED DESPITE RECEIVING TREATMENT. THIS WAS HOW ELMER BECAME THE ONLY SURVIVOR OF THIS RESCUE. TODAY ELMER IS COMPLETELY HEALTHY AND WITHOUT ANY KIND OF SEQUEL AND IS LOOKING FOR A LOVING FAMILY THAT WILL CONSENT HIM. ELMER IS A FAITHFUL COMPANION WHO LOVES TO BE HUGGED AND Cuddled. HE WILL LOVE TO TAKE WALKS AND WALKS WITH YOU. IT IS PLAYFUL AND FRIENDLY, WHICH MAKES IT IDEAL TO BE WITH CHILDREN AND LITTLE ONES. HE LIKES TO EXPLORE, DISCOVER NEW THINGS, MEET PEOPLE AND ABOVE ALL PLAY. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Story
TEXAS ADOPTION ONLY Hi my name is Cookee, and I'm the sweetest treat of a pup that you'll ever meet. People say I remind them of cookies and cream when I give them sweet kisses on the nose or bump up and snuggle with them when they're feeling down. I am a Dachshund-Basset mix and medium sized about 30# full grown. Sitting on people's couches or laps is my favorite pastime as I get to snuggle close to the people I love, which is practically everyone! I LOVE OTHER DOGS TOO!! I definitely want a home with other dogs :) As I am a bit on the older side and lived on the streets until I was saved with my babies in my tummy. I have been living at my foster home and am ready for my forever HOME!! I will need a patient and loving family to give me a good life of exercise- LOL, playtime, treats, love, affection, and belonging. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Thelma is the other half of the dynamic duo, Thelma & Louise! She is very much bonded to her sister Louise & relies on her for comfort & security . Where you find one, you will find the other! Thelma quickly bonds with her humans & insists on daily cuddles & pets. Like her sister Louise, Thelma is approximately 12 years old, around 19lbs & a sweet princess. She is working on getting her girlish figure back. She is a dachshund/terrier mix that gets along well with other dogs & is curious about cats. She walks on a leash with the occasional reminder to enjoy the scenery along the way & not rush to the finish line. If you are looking for a furry shadow, Thelma is your gal. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
TEXAS ADOPTION ONLY (BONDED PAIR) Oy Chico! Chico is a sweet couch potato, who is bonded with his brother Jefe! They are cute, little senior dachshunds who are hoping to be adopted together! They are a package deal, consider it a 2-for-1 special! Both have good energy and cannot stop wiggling their butts constantly! We are purebred dachshunds, with slightly different colored patches but all dachshund ALL the time! We are your standard dachshund size and have the temperament that would be great as a binge watching buddy, gaming friend or even a professional nappers (seriously we're that good.) Chico does have a seizure disorder that is controlled well with phenobarbital. His seizures were only about 1 a week but no one wants to let it happen so the meds were started and work GREAT! Local adoption fee is $300 for both of us (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $600 (includes transport to your area)
