Meet Caleb! An adorable 2-year-old dachshund weighing 11 lbs. and super sweet!! He is looking for his forever home after being in foster care and learning that love is gentle, patient, understanding, and kind. Caleb's past life was unkind and little by little, the past is becoming a distant memory. He is playful, sweet, a loving boy who like every dachshund, is vocal, very treat motivated, doesn't like the cold/rain, and can de-squeak a toy in seconds!! He gets along with both women & men but does prefer females. Caleb is a work in progress with his potty training however he is completely pee pad trained (keeping in mind that a new change will nonetheless bring a few accidents). Through no fault of his own, Caleb will easily learn to go outside with your positive encouragement and guidance - his past trauma was potty related where he lived in car, was scolded and learned to hold it for a very long time). He is crate trained and walks fairly nicely on leash. Caleb has fully recovered from IVDD and therefore his home will have limited stairs, keep his weight ideal, no jumping, and fed a high-quality diet with a good joint supplement. Caleb enjoys canine companionship of similar size & age, gets along with dog savvy cats, and children who are older 12+ (he does not like quick movements). HIs best life includes: Single family residence with a fully fenced & secured yard (no exceptions) Works a hybrid schedule, part-time, early retired Breed specific knowledge and experience (he is not for first time dog guardians) Active Quality time exploring the outdoors Follows and practices positive force free training guidelines Lives in a peaceful, quiet, rural area (city life is not for Caleb) Caleb is fostered in Vancouver, WA Only serious inquiries and matches will be replied to. Welcome Daisey to CCPAL foster program. She is an 8-year-old Dachshund/Corgi is our best guess. She has a longer body and upright ears. She is a scenting breed for sure. She is active and social and not the couch potato dog. She weighs 25 pounds. She is good with a dog smaller and a dog larger. The larger dog is a pit Bull and she does good with that more dominant dog as well. She is around children and is a great dog for a family with kiddos. She has a 5 year old and a baby in her home. This family has found they have to move into a rental house. The rental house will only allow 2 dogs. They are sad but there is no other option. Pit Bulls are tougher to rehome so she is rehoming her favorite dog. She was crying telling this story. Daisey is potty trained, good on a leash, good in a car, good with other dogs, kids and strangers. She will need a fenced yard or walked on a leash. She can catch a scent and wonder off. She has a nice sturdy body and will make a great companion for an active family or active senior. She can be an only dog or go with another dog. This dog has a lot of good years in front of her and is by no means an old acting dog. She is in good health, vaccinated, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is a shedding dog but only moderately. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to help get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Baboo is a lovely little boy who needs a new home due to his owner's allergies worsening since adopting him from a high kill shelter 8 years ago. Baboo has IVDD which has been treated but does require a knowledgeable and attentive owner willing to listen and learn how to prevent injury and support him as he ages. New adopters MUST be willing to do a slow transition to allow the pet time to warm up to his new humans and MUST be willing to maintain contact via text message or email with previous owners. Baboo has siblings he will be leaving and it's vital his new owners treat him like a valuable member of their family who respect and value his connections with his pet siblings and previous owners. An open adoption is new to some but it just means he can be treated as his own being with his own life and relationships and helps to aid the transition and decrease anxiety while moving to a new home. New owners must provide proof of pet insurance prior to adoption and sign adoption contract.

Animal Profile: Lt. Dan! You got new legs...err..a new leash! Lt. Dan is an adorable short stack with little legs, large ears, and a big fat head. Lt. Dan is one easy going dude. He has been in a family home with dogs, cats and kids. Unfortunately his family had a change of living circumstance and were not able to take Dan with them. He has been neutered and is on his way to the PNW. We cannot wait to meet him. Foster Update: With short little legs, big paws, a chunky head, and a baguette body, Lt. Dan is the cutest and happiest guy! His tail is always wagging and he lights up when he sees people. He walks nicely on leash, but will pull if he sees a critter like a rabbit or squirrel. He sleeps through the night in his crate and is great about going potty outside. Lt. Dan is very food motivated which is helpful for training. He enjoys toys and playtime but also loves to snuggle up. He can positively vibrate with energy when looking for a task or toy, but with consistent exercise and boundaries, he will settle. Dan has been a quiet work from home companion. Adopter profile: Dan is a confident dog, and will need an experienced handler who will give him clear guidance. Dan follows the cues of the resident dogs in his foster home and would do best in a home with another dog. Due to his exuberance, Dan would not be a good fit for a home with children. No first time dog owners, please. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate.
