Story
HI - I'M BRANDY! I'm a 1 year-old sweet and quiet Dachshund-Terrier mix in need of a forever home! I was recently rescued from a California shelter, and now am in a foster home. I get along great with other dogs & I love people, too. I'm just a puppy, really, and would love a home of my own where I can go for walks, car rides and other outings and have lots of fun. I weigh about 8 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
New foster needed by Feb. 10.   Animal Profile: Lt. Dan! You got new legs...err..a new leash! Lt. Dan is an adorable short stack with little legs, large ears, and a big fat head. Lt. Dan is one easy going dude. He has been in a family home with dogs, cats and kids. Unfortunately his family had a change of living circumstance and were not able to take Dan with them. He has been neutered and is on his way to the PNW. We cannot wait to meet him.  Foster Update:  With short little legs, big paws, a chunky head, and a baguette body, Lt. Dan is the cutest and happiest guy! His tail is always wagging and he lights up when he sees people. He walks nicely on leash, but will pull if he sees a critter like a rabbit or squirrel. Dan is a great jogging companion. He sleeps through the night in his crate and is great about going potty outside. Lt. Dan is very food motivated which is helpful for training. He enjoys toys and playtime but also loves to snuggle up. He can positively vibrate with energy when looking for a task or toy, but with consistent exercise and boundaries, he will settle. Dan has been a quiet work from home companion. Adopter profile: Dan is a confident dog, and will need an experienced handler who will give him clear guidance. Dan follows the cues of the resident dogs in his foster home and would do best in a home with another dog. Due to his exuberance, Dan would not be a good fit for a home with children. No first time dog owners, please. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred from Animal Advocacy & Rescue Center, our partner in Del Rio Texas and arriving via Paws Up Rescue on 11/10/24 to the Seattle area. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated in foster care.January 14, 2025, 8:31 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Ozzy is an approximately 2 year old 20 lb neutered male  joining us from a California shelter.  Foster Update:  If Ozzy's underbite doesn’t make you fall in love, his personality will! Ozzy loves being with his people, is easy on a leash, is excited to meet all dogs, but also respects their boundaries. He loves playing with all the toys, cuddling on the couch, or sniffing everything outside. He’s been a great city dog, but could easily live the quiet suburban life too. If you’re looking for a buddy to take hiking, to breweries, or a weekend movie marathon, he’s your guy.    Ozzy loves people, but gets nervous when rushed at or ran towards, so we’re looking for a home with no young children. He’s still learning to love his crate (the only time he makes noise) but is making huge improvement and we’re confident will continue to do so with continued training. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at [Animal Shelter] in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on [DATE]. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.January 22, 2025, 12:16 am

Story
Meet Poppy!Poppy is a 1.5-year-old, 17.5-pound Dachshund mix with a big personality packed into her small frame. She’s super fun, playful, and absolutely loving—a real joy to have around!Poppy gets along wonderfully with people, kids, and other dogs, making her a great fit for an active and social family. However, she’s not a fan of cats and will bark and chase them, so she’d do best in a cat-free home. Her sweet nature and playful energy make Poppy the perfect companion for outdoor adventures or cozy nights in. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal, and fun-loving pup, Poppy is ready to bring endless joy to your life!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.January 24, 2025, 12:14 pm

Story
HE WAS FOUND WITH TWO PUPPIES UNDER A HIGHWAY BRIDGE. UNFORTUNATELY, ONE OF THEM TESTED POSITIVE FOR DISTEMPER AND, BECAUSE THE DISEASE WAS ALREADY VERY ADVANCED, HE DIED A FEW DAYS AFTER STARTING HIS TREATMENT. ELMER AND THE OTHER PUPPY, TITAN, WERE PLACED IN QUARANTINE AS A PREVENTIVE MEASURE. HOWEVER, ONE DAY AFTER THE END OF QUARANTINE, TITAN SHOWED DISTEMPOR SYMPTOMS AND, LIKE THE FIRST PUPPY, DIED DESPITE RECEIVING TREATMENT. THIS WAS HOW ELMER BECAME THE ONLY SURVIVOR OF THIS RESCUE. TODAY ELMER IS COMPLETELY HEALTHY AND WITHOUT ANY KIND OF SEQUEL AND IS LOOKING FOR A LOVING FAMILY THAT WILL CONSENT HIM. ELMER IS A FAITHFUL COMPANION WHO LOVES TO BE HUGGED AND Cuddled. HE WILL LOVE TO TAKE WALKS AND WALKS WITH YOU. IT IS PLAYFUL AND FRIENDLY, WHICH MAKES IT IDEAL TO BE WITH CHILDREN AND LITTLE ONES. HE LIKES TO EXPLORE, DISCOVER NEW THINGS, MEET PEOPLE AND ABOVE ALL PLAY. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Story
If you`re looking for the perfect little pal, Walt may be it! Walt can be a little shy with new people, but once he warms up, he is full of charm and personality. Walt enjoys going for walks, cuddling in laps, and eating treats. Walt can be nervous with new dogs (especially big ones), so any introductions to resident pups should be done slowly. He`s never lived with cats before. Walt will likely do well with dog-experienced older kids, closer to their teen years, who can handle him gently and let him settle in at his own pace. If you’re ready to add a bunch of love – and cute – to your life, make an adoption appointment to meet Walt today!Walt`s adoption fee is waived, in thanks to a generous donor and our Pay it Forward program.
